No BCS teams will play Boise State
Just a little fuel to the fire...a good, short article by the Idaho Stateman. Boise State has been turned down 10 times already by BCS aligned schools for a 2011 match up. To be played by Boise State on the road with no return visit required. C'mon!
Of course, if you have not heard my proposal...
WAC Champion vs. Mountain West Champion on Championship Saturday (first Saturday in December).

Idiots like Don who whine about SOS need to pay attention. This has been the problem for DECADES by top nonAQ schools.
Florida, Texas, Alabama, Ohio St, Penn St, Oklahoma, etc. like most other Div IA factories are essentially greedy, GUTLESS COWARDS when it comes to scheduling.

This is also why the nonBCS leagues asked for the wrong concessions from the BCS when the system was changed to give those leagues a better chance just to make a BCS bowl. Without a playoff, nonBCS teams need a rules system that gives them the same leverage where scheduling is concerned. If BCS teams will not play them because they do not need to, the same should be true for nonBCS teams. The BCS system simply does not allow nonBCS leagues as a whole to compete to where they can give their champions the SOS they need to compete for the national title. People then rip and demand Boise State and such play two or three or four ranked BCS opponents on the road who don't need Boise State.

Don't most schools have 2011 schedules mostly complete by now, either through conference or prior agreements? Perhaps not individual dates, but agreements to play that year?

VT opens the 2010 season vs those guys in Washington, DC. The hyped up brand names don't seem to be calling the BSU's and Utahs for home & homes. Playing 1AAs are a bit 'safer' I guess. 3 SEC teams are playing in d1AA this weekend, btw.

Texas played Ohio State home and home and they are gutless? Bama played Virginia Tech earlier this year, is that gutless? In this decade Ohio State has played Texas Tech, NC State, USC, UCLA, Washington State when they were rated top 10 and Texas twice and they are gutless?! Penn State? Yeah, they are pretty much gutless.

idiots like you who keep pissing into the wind!!
First, consider the source for this article. Second, it is a PR job by BSU FOR THIS YEAR. It is NOT about 2011. It is to say that even though BSU's schedule sucks THIS year - it's not "our" problem the big boys won't play us. Third, it is gossip/PR. The Commish says blah, blah, blah - NOT BSU says blah, blah, blah. It starts with "Several high-profile programs have turned down a chance to play a home game against Boise State in 2011, WAC commissioner Karl Benson said Tuesday." Then goes to, "Benson isn't sure of the exact number of schools that have said no, but figures it is close to 10. The Broncos aren't asking for any games in Boise in return, he said." Nothing specific just vague references and nothing that he can be held to.
The BSU AD, Bleymaier, wasn't available for comment on the Commish's statement but was apparently available sometime...."Bleymaier wants to add a BCS road game as the 13th game to fix that hole."
This is nothing more than WAC spin.
Now ZOOM, for the last time...
Over the past 20 years NO TEAM IN AMERICA has played more ranked opponents AWAY AND AT NEUTRAL SITE THAN UF!!!!
And it is not even close!! UF has played 73 ranked opponents away and neutral site. The next nearest team is 57 games. That's 28% more than anymore else.
From 1998 to 2008 NO ONE HAS PLAYED MORE THAN UF!!!!
43 for UF with the nearest team at 38. Boise State has 8 games.
Here is a list of the 25 winningest teams 1998-2008.
1 Boise St. 114-25-0

Hey! Texas was SUPPOSED to play Utah last year AND this year... It was THEY who backed out... not us.
And, their backing out likely cost us a shot at the title last year.

All, of course completely IRRELEVANT lunacy.
UF plays most ALL it's ranked teams IN CONFERENCE or in Bowl Games, so none of those count at all. BSU cannot join the SEC, you idiot. Can't join the PAC 10 either. The only reason UF ever gets a ranked OOC opponent is because they have to play Florida St, but now that FSU sucks forget that. Enjoy your embarrasing Charleston Southern games, you ignorant lout.
It IS UF's job and programs like UF to fix BSU's schedule issue. The BSU's of the world have a right to be able to schedule good teams HOME AND HOME.
Until the NCAA forces MANDATORY EQUITY IN SCHEDULING the system will be under an anti-trust microscope and open to being repeatedly drug before Congress and ripped in the press. If an LSU plays an Idaho at home they should be MANDATED by the NCAA to play Idaho AT Idaho. And that should hold for basketball as well.
