Ohio State to wear 'throwback unis' for the Michigan game...
Kind of a wierd revelation. Ohio State will wear throwback uniforms for the big Michigan game this year to commemorate the 55 year anniversary of the 1954 Buckeyes who won the national championship. I find it odd that they're doing it for a road game - the uniforms will be unveiled on November 15 as part of Michigan week. Based on pictures I've seen from the 'old days', look for the helmets to be white with a scarlet stripe down the middle. Not sure what color the pants will be but hopefully they're all shiny like the ones in the Fred MacMurray Flubber movies!

Good for them. I admire any program that honors it's past. Far too many of today's athletes forget those that laid the groundwork for them. I read Jim Tressel's book "The Winners Manual" and he praises the past players at OSU. BTW, that book is simply outstanding. The lessons and philosophy Tressel lays out is remarkable and is so true for sports, business and life. It's one of the few books that when I have a child that child will read before he graduates high school. I would trust Jim Tressel to be US president over ANY politician right now based simply off his integrity laid out in that book. Highly recommended.

Tressel is a keeper...
I know he get's crap for his conservative style but he has a winning percentage over 80% at Ohio State which is only the best in school history. I think he knows what he has better than anyone else out there and he's going to put together a plan that best fits the ability of his personel. I think of the offense he ran when Troy Smith proved what he was capable of doing and I could see the same happening as Pryor matures. He has capable receivers but I think the flaw of this team is they don't have a couple healthy running backs like Pittman and Beanie - give this kid a running game that you have to respect and its a different game. Perhaps a healthy Berry or the kid from Indiana coming next year could be the answer.
At any rate, Tressel is everything you would want in a coach - I'd give him a lifetome contract.

I agree with Doc also. After reading that book, one can see Tressel truly does want his players to succeed as men more so than football players, and thats a good thing. Football aside, if I had a kid and he wanted to play for Tressel, I would have absolutely no doubt that Tressel would take care of him and lead him in the right direction on and off the field. Doc is right. He should have a lifetime contract. The wins will come and go. But his integrity and class are unmatched.
