Default Questions?

We've all seen the video of Brandon Spikes gouging the eyes out of Washuan Ealey. The video shows the 6'3" 258 lb. Spikes digging and digging, gouging and gouging like mad in an attempt to blind Washuan Ealey for life.

How far did the disfigured Washuan Ealey stagger before removing his helmet and collapsing in agony following the gouging?

How many blood transfusions did it take to replace all of the lost blood from Washuan Ealey?

How many players did it take to escort the maimed Washuan Ealey off of the field to the waiting medical staff?

How many plays did Washuan Ealey miss following the loss of sight?

Fact is Washuan Ealey didn't remove his helmet, didn't bleed profusely, didn't stagger off blinded, didn't need any assistance off of the field, and didn't miss any plays. Maybe, like a lots of junk that goes on under pile-ups, he wasn't actually trying to cause permanent damage but just piss the guy off.

I had shop class a football player in high school who used to sneak up on guys and punch them as hard as he could in the thigh. I know because he did it to me. I also know that IF he really wanted to hurt me he would have actually done so. He could have he me in the face, stomach, kidneys.... IF he really wanted to do damage.

A 6'3" 258lb dude like Brandon vs eyes of a defenseless player. IF Brandon wanted to really blind Washuan Ealey then Washuan Ealey would be blinded.

Default Good Questions....

I can personally confirm that freaky stuff sometimes happens at the bottom of a pile in football games... even in Jr. High.

I once broke a guy's finger when he tried to scratch my eyes... I turned my head away quickly, but caught his pinky in my facemask. I heard the "snap".... and, then heard him crying like the baby pig he was....

I thought... it was kind of funny.

Thanks Don, I feel much better now about Spikes . What a nice classy kid he must be. Is he one of the 24 Gator players that have been arrested in the 4 year UM tenure ? Actually that count was through July. There probably have been more.

Doesn't matter. Doing that off the football field lands the guy an assault charge, jail time and likely a civil suit. A season long suspension for that is ENTIRELY appropriate.
