Navy beat Air Force, why are they ranked behind them???
And do you really think any of these teams are better than Stanford??

Good question.
AFA has played one more game, than Navy, giving it more point earning opportunities. Games played will, of course, equal out at season's end, and post season points earned will also count towards the championship.

Hen, any chance of Georgia Tech getting into the SAC?? Isn't that a very good academic school? Tech players' majors are listed as engineering, biology, etc. Maybe I'm wrong, but I've always known GT to be an outstanding academic school.

Not sure about SMU or Tulsa, but yeah, forgot about BC. BC and GT for SAC 08?? Damn conference expansion!!!! Nothing but greed!!!!

Georgia Tech is, indeed, a great University, but SAC eligibility isn't based on a school's academic reputation.......only the academic/cerebral quality of the scholarship FB players and GT's are above average, but not quite SAC quality. Those players averaged a 962.9 SAT back in 1998 when the conference was formed. A team average 1000 SAT is required for SAC membership.

Yeah, Evil.........those 3 programs you mentioned all have above average standards for their scholarship players.....like GT, but not quite SAC quality standards.
Tulsa ( 981.4 team ave SAT) would be a candidate if the SAC expanded and lowered its admission standards, somewhat.

I'm open for SAC expansion but would need verifying team average admissions data.........which , unfortunately, the NCAA quit publishing after 1998. If anybody can come up with that data and make a case for any particular Bowl Div CF team, the SAC commissioner (me) will surely consider it.
The 'almost' SAC teams, back in 98 were Tulane, Tulsa, Cal, UCLA, Iowa, Miami,Oh and ,believe it or not, Okla St.. OSU showed a team average 988.04 SAT (which surprised me).
