Drop out of the top 25 this week? They take a loss and their "Quality win" against Louisville now looks really suspect.

Remember, they lost to the #11 team so the pollsters (experts?) expected a contest and UK played like they had earlier this year ecept that they didn't come back. If you took those two USC defensive TDs away, the Gamecocks would have been on their game-winning drive to claim a 24-23 win. Can't get much closer. Plus UK tossed a pick when driving into the end zone. All of that will be considered when reating them. I expect them to drop from #8 to around #17-18. Gamecocks will probably be #10 at worst and possibly #8-9.

But they will lose to LSU next week and drop out the following monday. What about Utah! They lose to Oregon st(lower pac-10) Unlv and AFA but hang 44 on 5-2 Kentucky and 44 on 5-1 UCLA????

LSU will crusie past them as UK will suffer either as LSU tries to get over an upset loss to Florida or as they cruise to an unbeaten season. Yes, UK is destined to a 8-4 season in my estimation. And Utah !!! Is this an example of bipolar behavior or what ??? That is why it is so hard to predict these damned things. Look at what a poor UNC is doing to Miami (27-0 in the second last time I watched). Also if KSU goes into halftime with a lead over Kansas they will win. Now the Wildcats need some serious consideration as they narrowly lost to Auburn who upset Florida and then trounce unbeaten Texas and possibly an unbeaten Kansas. This team is flying under the radar even after last week. Watch out Big XII North ... hell !!! watch out Big XII south !!!

Do you even watch the games? Utah beat Louisville not Kentucky.

...i see this fine UK teamteam as legit, but facing the nations toughest schedule will not only result in inevitably more losses, but real physical wear and tear...funny bipolar reference jim...big win for OU program who will in a few years more of bradford forget about all his predecessors dating back to royal, warmack and mildren..this kid is phenomenal!

Yes, he is a very mature athlete (not only football but basketball and golf), an honor student and a model kid. NIce to hear someone respond intelligently to the on-the-field questions. Not bad for a kid who has played in just six college games since his Putnam City HS days.
OU could have made it worse but imploded just like last week. Happy but concerned about their pathetic pass defense. Dump this friggin' soft 2-deep zone and start playing man coverage with English etc. doing a speed rush. Only when McCoy was hurried did the defesne get it done. Credit Texas with a not-here-in-Dallas mode of playing. This was a real nail biter. I'm on my fourth brew and my wife is making Tostadas and Chili Rellenos. She can cook but leave the carbs alone pretty much herself. Is she trying to kill me ??? Oh well, a smile and a full stomach is the way to go !!!

Does USC?

I don't know sc69er. Does Southern Cal drop out of the polls this week? They took a loss and their "quality win" looks really suspect. In fact, UK's big win is better than Southern Cal's, and UK's lone loss, to a top 10 USC, is better than Southern Cal's lone loss, to god-awful Stanford.
So, sc69er, should UK drop out of the polls since their quality win looks suspect and their recent loss? Maybe. Should Southern Cal also? No you say? Why, because Southern Cal is "supposed" to be better than UK? UK's body of work, right now, is better than Southern Cal's.

sc69er often starts typing before thinking. He must not have realized UK's body of work, as of today, is better than Southern Cal's. He makes the case for UK dropping out of the top 25, when they have more claim to be there than SoCal at this point. Except, of course, UK doesn't have all the June and July hype that SoCal did. Other than the hype, UK's season is going better than SoCal's.

Why do you people keep worrying about polls ?
Polls are a joke......a really, really bad joke.

So true Hen. I hate to even recognize them. But, it's what we have.
Honestly, I don't necessarily hate the idea of a poll. What if there was NO poll? Obviously, each person would kind of have their own little poll. For example, without a poll, most of us would post our own version, which some still do. And eventually, we would do an average of all our personal polls, have a nationalchamps.com poll. Which is all opinion. But we would do it, if only for fun. And thats all the poll are, an average of opinions.
I don't hate the polls in relation to simply debating during the season and just kind of having an overview of the rankings.
My problem with the polls is when it directly assigns who is allowed to play in a 2 team playoff. I actually have some confidence that the polls are fairly accurate in showing a collective group of 25 teams that are probably the best 25 teams in college football. I'd agree with the 25 teams listed each week, give or take a couple. But when that average of opinions determines which team is 1, 2 and who is in a 2 team playoff- thats my problem.
1-AA for example. The 1-AA polls is great for debate, because in the end we have a playoff to determine it.
I like the polls for in-season debate. I don't like it as a tool to determine who is in a 2 team playoff. BTW, what do you think of creating an informal nationalchamps.com poll? We could all email a top 25 to someone, and they could post an average of the opinions? After week 8 maybe?
