Interesting non-conference fact

Northwestern has not gone undefeated in a season against non-conference competition (including bowl games) since they went 2-0-0 against non Big Ten teams in 1963. With all of the cupcake scheduling we see these days, it's amazing that a school couldn't accomplish an unblemished record vs non-conference competition in that span of time.

What kills me are the year(s) where they lost to a MAC team and then went on to win the BT. Hilarious. I think Miami(Ohio) got 'em a couple of times.

Miami got 'em in 1995 when they won the outright big 10 title. Wake Forest beat them in 1996.
