no, its not a record.

by the way, haven't seen any negative comments on Wisconsin losing a day after getting a top ranking in AP...

nobody really cares about wisconsin because they don't have the star power espn can sell on sportscenter or college game night. they play good team basketball and it is sad to say people don't care about that. they'd rather talk about 36 year-old greg oden and his 14 pts. per.

Greg Oden is 19 years old and while he is averaging about 15 points per game, its what he does on the defensive end of the court that makes him such a special player. He single handedly dictates how teams try to play offense against Ohio State, similar to the way Patrick Ewing did in the early to mid 1980's. He is a tremendous talent and will only continue to get better.

i agree he's getting better. he's a fine talent. i just don't want to hear about his every move when i tune into espn. i watched one of his high school games on inhd last year and he was used and abused by some 6'4 and 6'6 kids. his team ended up losing. although i must say that he's gotten much better since that time (or maybe he just had a bad game).

i saw tim duncan play his first college game (exhibition) and he was one of the worst players i've ever seen in my life. my buddy even said the same thing. about half way into his freshman season he's playing at an all-american level. it seems like oden might be making that same type of progress. i just don't see the hype. at this point in time, he's no where near as good offensively as patrick ewing or as skilled as tim duncan. granted, he's 7'0 feet tall, agile, and seems to have a good presence on the defensive end of the court. but if he was playing college ball in the early 90s, shaq and zo would eat him alive.

he has the benefit of playing in an era where the media and officials try to protect their stars. he's yet to take a beating like shaq had to do in college. the sad thing is he probably never will. oden a very good player, but a elite type of game changer - i'm not so sure about that yet.

I agree that Wisconsin isn't a 'sexy' team. They do have a senior whose name eludes me right now and they do play fundamental basketball...Oden bring a lot to the game. you can't place a value on him just by stats alone. If you go by that, Durant from Texas is far better. Teams have to completely adjust when playing against Oden, like Ewing back in the day as Doc mentioned.
My point originally to 'the duck' was that he is only negative relating to anything related to Ohio State. It must kill him to have to live there in northwest ohio and not be a fan when the school is doing so well in both major sports. (yes, despite an embarrasing loss in football)
