Since the 1965 non-conference road game in Ann Arbor to face Michigan, Georgia has not played a non-conference game outside of the southern region of the United States to play a regular season non-conference game. That means that Georgia has played their last 173 consecutive non-conference games in the south (122 at home and 51 on the road) since the last time Georgia played a regular season non-conference game outside of the southern region of the United States.

Since the 1972 non-conference game in New Orleans against Tulane, Georgia has not played a non-conference game that was not in the states of Georgia or South Carolina. Georgia has only traveled to Georgia Tech, Clemson or South Carolina (when the Gamecocks were an Independent). That means that Georgia has played their last 140 consecutive regular season non-conference games in the states of Georgia (123) and South Carolina (17). Georgia is scheduled to play 3 non-conference games in Athens and 1 in Atlanta vs Georgia Tech in 2007 to add to those numbers. However, in 2008 Georgia is scheduled to play at Arizona State and in 2009 at Oklahoma State.

Obviously bowl games are non-conference games but they're not scheduled so I did not count them. I only counted the Scheduled Regular Season Non-Conference Games from 1965 to 2006.

Pretty amazing numbers.
