Most of us are cautiously optimistic. We have good lines on both sides of the ball. We have a QB who can actually see the middle of the field. We have receivers who have a lot of potential. We have a RB that's ready to carry the team. We have a new Offensive Coordinator who at least seems to know his stuff. We still have the defense ready to sack everyone.
Losing Calvin will hurt, no doubt, but I think we'll be okay. The schedule is a pain... Most of us fanatics are prediction 9-3 as realistic, we'll see how that holds up.
Worst case is that Bennett isn't the same QB as the Gator Bowl (or nowhere close to the same that is...) and we have to start a transfer from Auburn who has shown a strong arm and decent decision making in practice. The 2007 recruiting class was a real good one, best of the Gailey era. Some of those guys will see playing time.
My "preseason prediction" computer program predicted losses at ND, home against VT, and a loss at Miami. In following the grand tradition of one upset victory and one upset loss, I see us winning at ND and losing at UVA (haven't won there since the thrilling game in 1990).
