I don't really understand why anyone tries to argue against it anymore?

Saying the SEC is the best, talent-wise, doesn't mean GREAT teams can't exist elsewhere... or, that other conferences aren't also very good and competitive.

But.. clearly, the best football athletes live in the Southeast (on average) .. and, consequently more of them attend college there.. to be close to home.

At least... for the past several years.

I agree. Up until 4 years ago, there was an arguement, but the premise of this article is sound. There has been a tipping point, and one can only assume the Big10's latest move to expand is being done (seemingly against all logic) in order to remain a power if the trend continues

Southern kids simply stay close to home more now than they did 10, 20, 30 years ago. The south, including Texas, have always produced the best athletic football talent for as long as I can remember (the south never took up the youth soccer craze to the level that so much of the rest of country did 10-20 years ago). And now they tend to want to stay home more than they used to...

Fear not... Hen hasn't chimed in yet. Probably busy running ALL-TIME numbers... back to 1967.5.

Just wait until they go to 16 by adding Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State! :)
