Good God !!!, 35 bowls games and we've still got four of these damned things to go. Personally I think they should shitcan at least a dozen of these stupid 3 1/2 hour jokes. A person on death row would even turn off the tube and tell the guy with the hood, "OK, lets get this over with".

You get a Pizza this, a Weed-Wacker that, thse stupid St. Petersburg, New Orleans, International and a New Mexico Bowl for the love of God! Who gives a flying f*k about central New Mexico anyway? Wow, lets pack 'em up and travel to some sand dune where a blade of grass even refuses to grow without the miracle of a research botanist. My idea of the perfect holiday, yee-haw !!! December in desolation - how refreshing. "Oh lookie honey! A cow skull and a cactus".:p

If a team can't post at least a 7-5 record then screw them. If you couldn't establish a winning season given 12 opportunities then who the hell do you think you are anyway? Get back to class and at least attempt to do what the taxpayer of your scholarship paid for. The other slightly more successful clowns will rejoin your ilk next semester.

ESPN must be giddy happy as they spent an excessive amount of time talking about the Mike Leach situation at Texas Tech. If this Adam James has any brain cells working he ought to get the hell out of Lubbock. Even when this simmers down, they'll be some nut job who wants to make a statement with this guy. I would hate to be him. Leach will survive and get at least an OC job somewhere. Might take a year off and wait for attrition to claim another coach and then come to the rescue. Perhaps Texas A&M, Purdue, Washington State or a MWC team (UNLV, San Diego State, or, God forbid - New Mexico).

Anyway, that is my rant.;)

Dump all of the bowls in favor of 15 playoff games. I love how playoffproblem. com argues that bowls create more compelling matchups than those created by a playoff matching the top three and bottom three seeds. The stakes of a game are what matters most. Texas versus East Carolina in the first round of a playoff is more compelling to me than every consolation bowl game.

Can you imagine 'bracketology' in big time CF ? We wouldn't be able to stand the excitement.

There are 34 of these things, Jim, including the BCS Invitational

But Hen, unlike basketball, they do not allow for a team to move up to the next level. Perhaps a ten game regular season schedule (get rid of these Wisconsin vs. Austin Peay and Oklahoma vs. Idaho State jokes). Have 12 conferenes of 10 teams each.

Take the 12 champions and the top 4 runners up. Go from 16 to 8 to 4 to 2 and then a true title game. Use the regular more meaningful bowls to host 8 then 4 then 2 and a title game. By the time you got to a 12th game for a team you'd be talking of only 8 teams. A 13th game gives you 4 and a 14th gives you 2 and a 15th, a true playoff champion. Two weeks between each level. If you wish more regular season games then limit it to 11 scheduled games maximum. Season lasts no longer and ends sooner for the losers in the playoff. Simple, fair and balanced. So, naturally it doesn't stand a chance.

Or 10 twelve team conferences each with a conference championship game (gives some upstart an extra shot at getting in). Regular season is 10 games - tahts it. No BS padding stuff. Take those 10 champs plus 6 "at large" (if the big guy gets upset by the little guy in a CTG then he may get in as an "at large"). Do the 16-> 8-> 4-> 2-> champion thing.

Hey me too. Clemson vs UK. Don't know why, but I rarely watch more than the 2nd half of a bowl game. Gonna watch TX vs Bama though.
