With Cinci out of the way, TCU has a chance to put more pressure on the BCS if they can beat Boise State to finish 12-0. With all due respect to BSU, they didn't play the schedule that TCU did IMO and thus, an unbeaten BSU isn't going to be thought of as highly as an unbeaten TCU would be. Last year, Utah from the MWC beat Bama to finish unbeaten and that led to the uproar from the MWC, congressional hearings, etc. What if TCU and Bama win and you have Bama #1 with TCU #2 as the only remaining unbeaten teams? That would be interesting as the MWC would have some ammo as their champ (Utah) beat Bama one year ago, so why wouldn't they assume that they could do the same if they had a shot this year (which they do not obviously.) That would be two years in a row where an SEC team got the benefit of the doubt over an unbeaten MWC Champ...last year it was Florida over Utah and this year it would be Bama over TCU. Just more fuel to the fire. If this happens, the MWC is going to take it up a notch, even more than they did last year. No other nonBCS conference would have the ammo that they would at that point and it would be interesting to see what would happen. This is all of course assuming that both TCU and Bama win, which they are favored to do. Bottom line, if you support the push for playoffs in college football, your best bet is to root for TCU and Bama to win their games...IMO.

there will be two undefeated teams when its all said and done so there will be controversy. I actually think Texas will beat Alabama and TCU will take BSU. Then you'll have an in-state debate and Zoombag declaring that TCU is by far the best team in the country. But if ever there was a reason for a playoff it's the fact that UC was a second away from playing for the MNC and as we saw last night they simply were the product of a weak conference and do not have the athletes to compete with the truly elite teams.

I wouldn't read too much into that one. Cincy was a program in disarray as they took their coach leaving the way he did, pretty hard, and were then coached by another coach that also was moving on.... A clear mess, not a way to meet a team like Florida playing all the emotion of their greatest player in his last game and a coach maybe coaching his last game for a while...

Politics, hmmm, never heard of that word. Maybe they should insert Jim Mora saying, "Playoffs?" as well.

I guess this controversy has been laid to rest.

Time to load up on the Boise Bandwagon.

Yep...TCU and the MWC had a golden opportunity to really take their argument to another level. Unfortunately, they didn't win the game. Boise State and the WAC do not have the same respect that TCU would have had, especially given the Utah situation last year. Last night was a "victory" for the BCS IMO. They are off the hook for the most part.

Preliminary survey of Coaches and AP Writers seems to show they move BSU past Florida to the #2 spot in their final pool, tho...

I fully expect the top 3 teams to be...

1. BCS NC game winner
2. BCS NC loser
3. Florida

If Texas gets blown out it could go...

1. Alabama
2. Florida
3. Boise State

Provided its a close, competitive game my top five PREDICTION is...

1. BCS winner
2. BCS loser
3. Florida
4. Boise State
5. Ohio State

Look at it this way, Florida beat a higher ranked BCS team in #3 Cincinnati far worse than Boise beat #4 TCU. Just my thoughts.

Top 10 probably rounds out...

6. TCU
7. Iowa
8. Cincinnati
9. Penn State
10. Virginia Tech

Boise will be #2 IMO and I wouldn't argue with it since they went 14-0. I don't really care about final rankings...just championships. No championships for the Gators this year. A really good season full of wins over our rivals like Tenn, UGA, FSU, LSU, etc...but no rings due to the Bama loss. :(

The Fiesta Bowl might have some meaning, but on next year's championship. With Boise returning a handful of starters, how high can they start in the preseason polls?

Boise needed this game for next year more than anything.
