View Full Version : OK, I can do trivia too!
This is for BCS teams only and BCS opponents!
Since 1990, how many times has your team beaten a team that ended the season X-1-0? In other words how many times did your team prevent your opponent from ending the season with an unblemished record by beating them?
Which team do you think has turned the trick most often?

But I said for BCS teams only, Miami-Ohio isn't BCS.:(

I forgot about last year and missed the BCS stipulation. Oh well. Nine times is amazing since four is the next most I think.
*Illinois defeated East Carolina the first game of the 1991 season 38-31 and ECU went on to win their final 11 ball games to finish 11-1.
*Arkansas defeated Boise State 41-14 Week 2 of 2002 and Boise went on to finish 12-1. Same thing happened to Boise in 2003 (Oregon State) and 2004 vs. Louisville in the Liberty Bowl.
*Oklahoma in 2004 vs. Southern Cal in the BCS Title Game.
*Arizona State to tOSU in the 1997 Rose Bowl.
*Tennessee to Florida in 1995.
*tOSU in 1996 to Michigan, 1998 vs. Michigan State and vs. Florida in the 2007 BCS Title Game.
*FSU to Miami in 1987, 1988 and 1992. Notre Dame in 1993. Florida in 1996 in the Sugar Bowl and in 1997 to boot.
Any many, many more....

Don't know if this counts or not, but in 1990, N. Carolina tied Ga. Tech for their only blemish on their share of the MNC

I forgot about last year and missed the BCS stipulation. Oh well. Nine times is amazing since four is the next most I think.
I also found 4 as the next most but wanted others to check my search results.
What is also amazing is that the average margin of victory in UF's nine wins is 19.5 points.

Not as many as you think. I can find only 21 schools that did it.

In 2006 Florida won the national championship in college football with a 13-1 record. Who was the only team to defeat The Gators that season?
Easy answer now but as little respect as Auburn gets this will be forgotten.
