Which BCS teams, in the BCS era, have the highest winning percentage vs non conference BCS opponents ????? There is a tie.

I don't know the team but it's probably a bad school BCS that has played a bunch of other bad BCS opponents since 1998.

No, not really....2 of the stronger football programs out there. I would never offer a trick trivia question.

I think USC would have to be one of them.

In just the 2000s, they've beaten Auburn twice, Arkansas twice, Michigan twice, Virginia Tech once, Nebraska once, Iowa once.

In fact, the only non-conference BCS loss that I can think of, was the Texas MNC game. Certainly they weren't as good in the late '90s, but given their percentage lately, they have to be one of them.

Apparently it's Wisconsin. I'd have guessed Georgia.

Well, no matter what I check, it comes up Wisconsin.

Ok, Lousiville comes up as a possible, if you're only counting games played as a major:

Otherwise, Wisconsin seems to come up every possible option I try.

I guess it's safe to say that it's not Temple.

Wisconsin is 14-3, Georgia 16-5:

Wisconsin is 14-3. Obviously the 2 wins over Cincinnati were when the Bearcats were in Conference USA.

My previous post may be confusing. Wisconsin's 14-3 record is vs schools that WERE in BCS conferences when the games were played. The wins over Cincinnati in 1999 and 200 do not count because Cincinnati was NOT in the Big East yet.

Thanks ktffan...but I'm not sure that the data you referenced is the same thing. It says records vs N/C opponents that are Major....that could be major , non BCS teams, that are independents. My data is just BCS league teams vs other BCS leagues (CCC).

Hen, you did not say BCS leagues, I checked. I also checked every possibility of what you MIGHT have meant, including indepedents as you usually do and every time, except when I checked for just majors, it came up Wisconsin and since I don't remember Notre Dame playing Wisconsin, I'm sticking by it.

Removing Notre Dame moves USC up the list, but not much else:

Non-Conference games against BCS teams MINUS NOTRE DAME (http://www.sportslinknetwork.com/cfbtrivia/record.php?fry=1998&thy=2006&ncnf=on&major=on&ind=on)

Was Wisconsin playing football in 200?

The win over Cincinnati in 1999 would not count as a win anywhere because they lost that game. :):)

Right....I just edited my last post. 14-3 it is for Wisc (.820), .760 for UGA . I did leave off "BCS" leagues by mistake. Keep following me around and correcting..I appreciate it.

Well, since I knew Cincinnati wasn't in the Big East I didn't even look at the result. I'm guilty of the "assume" factor and we all know what happens when we do that.

As far as Wisconsin playing football in 200? Well, I think that they played the University of Rome and Jerusalem State on the road and were total out manned and lost by huge scores. I'll see if I can find those results and post them later!

I don't know about Uof Rome, but Wisconsin used to play teams like Beloit, Lake Forest, Calumet Club, Armour, Rippon, Upper Iowa, Rush Medical and Hyde Park HS back in those early times.

...as did just about every other college football program back then.

Who's to say that 100 year from now, people will say, "...yea, but Wisconsin played Temple, before they became an all girls college."

I love looking over those late 19th century and early 20th century records. VT used to play the Roanoke YMCA and St. Albans....a mental institution (now)

UGA probably should've dropped the Savannah Athletic Club and replaced em with a HS team. They only won 1 of 4 games vs those guys....and got shut out 3 times....and Ray Goff wasn't even the HC !
