I think polls and MLB using the ASG to determine homefield are among the dumbest ideas ever in sports, but NASCAR may actually even surpass the stupidity of those ideas by penalizing drivers in the points standings for swearing. The sport's champion could be the result of someone swearing! Imagine any other sport operating like this. A baseball team being penalized a half game in the standings after a manager or player is taped swearing in a post game interview. Personally, I could not care less about auto racing and I have no idea how much 25 points in the standings really means, but the very idea that a curse word could make all the difference is just dumb.

Tony Stewart.........great driver that he is, should be fined, docked, punished somehow for being about the biggest jackass in cup racing...IMO.
Anyway, interesting & good points, CJH

Iowa does NOT play OSU or Michigan, with 6 ret .on 'O' and 8 on 'D' how do you see your team doing in 07 ????

depends on how their new QB will do, duck. Purdue didn't play OSU or Michigan either last year, certainly was no guarantee for a successful season...

I'm the type of fan that never expects too much or too little. I thought Iowa would do better the last two years, but I never had the high expectations predicted of them going into those seasons. I definitely expect this team to top the results of the last two seasons, but the biggest question mark is with the new QB. I'm confident in all other areas and if the QB is any good, I like our chances for 10 or more wins, but that is easier said than done even if Michigan and Ohio State are not on the schedule. IIRC, Wisconsin and PSU are on the road.

I think it's a sport.............just not a running, jumping, doing things with sticks and balls, sport.
