Saw this on another board.
Rank based on spring times in the 100m:
Here are the top 10 fastest players for 2007, based on their spring times in the 100m:
1. Trindon Holliday, LSU 10.06...this kids blazes, and he’s only 5-5.
2. Jacoby Ford, Clemson 10.23
3. Jamaal Charles, TX - 10.32...ran a 10.13 (wind-aided, last season)
4. Jahvid best, Cal 10.36..incoming freshman
5. Jamere Holland, SoCal...10.36 redshirted last year
6. Brandon Saine, tOSU 10.38 incoming FR
7. CJ Spiller, Clemson 10.41
8. Percy Harvin, FLA - 10.43 - he’ll get a lot of touches in 07 as Urban opens it up
9. Travon Patterson, SoCal, 10.44
10. Deonte Thompson, FLA - 10.47 - incoming FR

Have you ever noticed how most of these guys times change when the NFL Combine does the timing? Most of these are extremely inflated. Don't get me wrong, these ARE probably the fastest players in college football, just not THAT fast.

But, Jim, those were track times. Not HS football coaches' hand-held 40 times. Now those are usually notoriously off.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm assuming that those 100's were meet times.

It's sometimes comical, also, how much some of these CF players 'shrink' when weighed and measured by the NFL guys.

Holland is the fastest Trojans since Sultan McCullough, and Patterson was lighting it up in the spring (3 Td's in SG)
