Butch Davis sounds like he brought in a great class for UNC.
As for my Razorbacks, well, we finally have a top 20 finish in the polls, and yet we still rank near #50 with this years class.

For the most part, Michigan reloaded with quality in necessary areas. However, their weakness continues to be defending deep passes and teams that can throw over the top might continue defeating Michigan. With Michigan, a lack of talent does not explain losing any game.

You're more than welcomed to send Mallett back down here to the UofA. Although, I'm not sure it'd be in his best interest to trasfer to the "QB graveyard" of the country.

Is Mustain headed to USC as rumored on web sites today?

There's no telling. I know that he wanted to finish this academic semester at UofA before getting too involved with making a decision of where to transfer. I don't doubt at all the Pete Carroll has talked to him.

I'm pretty excited with Auburn's Class. Considering how we were able to steal two of the biggest Natural State stars: Kodi Burns and Lee Ziemba.
Great O-line prospects.
Talented running back (Enrique Davis)
Talented QB (Kodi Burns)
Things look good.

I'm happy with mine even though we could only sign 20! Got a lot higher rated talent than we have in years. Looking forward to seeing what our coaching staff can do with these guys since they've done a decent job coaching up players in the past (do not mention a particular QB please?)
*Cough* Reggie Ball *cough*
Good (?) to see a representative of the North Avenue Trade School on the board.

Something tells me that fans from Texas, Florida, USC, LSU, USC and Rutgers are extremely happy with their teams' recruiting this year.

The main problem I have with recruiting is that we won't know. We won't know, really, which of these kids will even make it through. Normally 20% of all signees won't play more than a down for their teams.
They'll go to JUCOs, Prep Schools, leave after being redshirted, etc.
There are very few kids who will come and be game changers right away and even then it's a double edged sword (Maurice Clarett for example)

I'll take our kids ....LSU did fine. Got some good well fed boys
I know what you mean. The AJC online headline about UGA's recruiting class was "Bulldogs bulk up". It was a big year for linemen here.

Liked Aubies class alot. On paper its the best class under Tuberville. Only time will tell. Ryan Pugh and L. Ziemba are two huge gets.

What happened at LSU? They dropped below USC and Tenn.

My Tigers had a pretty good class, although the scuttlebutt seems to be centered around the heavy handed "review board" and some late notifications of non-qualifying, and how it cost some high quality recruits.

I've got nothing against Clemson, but -- ok, that's a lie. Of course, I do.
Anyway, if the sources from the article are accurate and Clemson has instituted a tough academic review board to screen recruits, then I applaud them for their efforts to improve the school's academic reputation. But if that review board is turning down players who wind up at UNC and UGA, both of whom are traditionally "ranked" ahead of Clemson academically (way ahead in the case of UNC), is the purpose really being served effectively? One could argue that UNC and UGA are just being particularly slack (of course they are), but I just don't see Chapel Hill's academic reputation being tarnished because they took an athlete that Clemson turned down (although that is pretty funny to me, and I've used it when Georgia Tech fielded players who didn't qualify academically at UGA).
I don't know any details about the administration over there by Lake Hartwell, but I've seen how it can be pretty scary when a school gets a president who thinks that success in intercollegiate sports is inversely proportionate to the institution's academic reputation.

More than happy with Penn State's 2007 Recruiting class. People will look to it and comment how there is no running back (that hurts every time i think about it) , but we deserve it for only going after 2 TRUE bluechip RB'S. And also the fact that there were no quarterback's signed. But we still have Anthony Morelli as a 5th year Senior, and Pat Devlin is very highly touted and took a redshirt year leaving him with 4 more years. Add Daryl Clark and Brett Brackett to that, along with senior Paul Cianciolo and that just was not a pressing need. I still think that Austin Scott is going to come through as a 5th year senior (Rodney Kinlaw is also a 5th year Senior) so running back is in good hands. Mostly loaded up on a few player's of the year for their respective divisions (1A/AA/AAA/AAAA) within pennsylvania. Add to that one of the cousins of emeka okafur (chimaeze okoli) at DT, Devon Still, and 2 juco top 100 offensive tackles. 3 Highly Touted LB'S (Andrew Dailey/Chris Colasanti/Nathan Stupar). One of the best pulling guards in the country from last years class (J.B. WALTON - WENT TO MILFORD ACADEMY FOR A YEAR)A bunch of big wideouts and safety prospects and a few corners. All in all i give the nittany lions coaching staff an A grade for recruiting. :)

Ohio State's Class is a tale not unlike Jekel and Hyde.
On the one hand the over all class was sensational. Scout and Rivals downgraded a class based upon small numbers of signee's. If you rank them by average star rating OSU came in 5th. Thats the good news.
The bad news is that OSU wiffed badly in area's of need. Specifically, DT and Oline. OSU's season litterly peaked at the Michigan game and wound down with a whisper. Shortly after the Michigan game, insiders were giddy as the buckeyes supposedly lead for SEVERAL elite prospects and landed NONE of them. The last minute save of gaining Heyward was the only ending positive note to the close of recruiting. 11/15 kids were either 4/5 star prospects with 4 of them being top 100 kids.
2008 and 2009 are sensational classes for Ohio Football so Id expect OSU to have great classes for both of those years. 2008 OSU looks to be able to sign between 18-20 kids and 2009 close to 25
