UF v. ARK and TEX v. OK:

Two very similar games, yet two different narratives coming out of each.

TEX v. OK:

This was a sloppy game that proves no one in the Big 12 is really any good.

UF v. ARK:

This game proves how tough it is to win week-in, week out in the SEC.

It's tougher in every league. The teams know each other inside and out.

1-win Purdue beating Ohio State drives this point home.

Not in the SEC it doesnt! That just means that Ohio State sucks and Vanderbilt would win the BIG 10. The rest of the college football world is LUCKT that the SEC does not have time to play them or else they would get crushed just like Utah and UL Monroe!!! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The reason I think the SEC is tough is team speed. Every team in the SEC has team speed. Its just everywhere in the South, so recruiting it is easy. That doesn't mean a team will be good. Lots of fast teams are bad teams who can run, but can't play well (Clemson!!).

BUT, that makes for a landmine of trap games. If a team has speed, that variable can show up any day to take advantage of mistakes. Some days, those fast but less talented defenses just make plays, make turnovers, and all of a sudden, it's tied in the 4th quarter and upset special alert. Arkansas almost did it. South Carolina was a couple plays away also, simply because they have a very fast defense that made some turnovers and kept it close. But USC and Arky are still mediocre teams that would be mediocre in the other BCS conferences as well.

I agree... that ALL conferences, where teams play each other regularly and develop rivalries... make winning all games tougher. Coaches get to know each others tendencies... and, game plan all damn year sometimes, just to get that crucial win that will mollify the alumni?

I will say this... I think Oklahoma is the BEST 3-loss team in the country... maybe, ever. They've had three really tough losses.... And, they STILL have a ton of future NFL players on that team.

Did anybody notice Texas Tech destroying Nebraska?? At home... with a backup QB? A Nebraska team that was one play away from beating Va Tech at home??

Hmnn... maybe, those Big 12 South teams aren't all that bad...

Hmmmm.... I don't view Ark and SC as mediocre CF teams. I think 'dangerous' describes them and a whole bunch of other CF teams.
