A season sweep of the Tarheels. A victory against Duke in Cameron.

No wonder these two schools fought so hard to keep the Hokies out of the ACC.

Well too bad, suckers.

hahahahahahahahahaha.

Nothing but a football school...hahahahahahaha

Have you changed your previously stated opinion on how far VT will Dance?

hehe, thats what I was thinking...I remember everyone saying how watered-down ACC bball would become...I don't think the ACC has lost any ground with the new expansion programs

Not until March.

This teams plays well when it's not expected to win. And plays flat when they think they are going to win. With two consecutive big victories (a blowout of UVA and win in the Dean Dome), they are all set up for disaster with NCSU on Sunday. The Pack burst their bubble last time, and they certainly could do it again. The Hokies have 5 more games, and only Miami seems like a sure win.

If they win 4 of the remaining 5 games, I will pick them to get to the Sweet 16. If they lose more than 3, and have an early exit in the ACC tournament, then I will predict an early exit from the NCAA tourney.

I also recognized that this prediction runs counter how I believe this team plays. If they lose down the stretch, then they would be in perfect position for a cinderella run. But I just think once you get to March, you better be playing like you belong if you expect to go far.

The scope of my observations is very limited, but it appears to me that the Georgia Tech didn't bring ACC basketball down when it joined; rather, joining the ACC helped GT basketball improve.

Yeah, ACC Commissioner John Swofford is trying to find ways right now to get rid of VT and BC right now.

I don't think he stand not having UNC and Duke on top of the ACC standings. :p

Since expanding the ACC,

In football, Miami and FSU have sunk like a stone, and Wake Forest wins (and brings no fans).

In basketball, Duke and UNC are struggling to win the conference (hell, Duke is struggling to win at all).

I think the idea was that other teams would improve, but I don't think they expected their cornerstones to crumble.

(To be fair, UNC is still doing just fine).

vt was a good addition, but bc doesn't belong in the acc. the day can't get here soon enough when they crawl back to the big east. it just makes sense for all parties involved that bc goes back to an eastern conference. it would solve the scheduling problem for the big east fb members, give the big east a strong football and basketball program in an EASTERN market - and the acc could go after south carolina again or maybe give a southern based non-bcs team a shot at joining a bcs conference.

its a southern conference which happens to be on the eastern seaboard. i was born and breed in north carolina right along tobacco road. when i was growing up i thought maryland was out of place. nothing worse than having to watch an acc tournament from landover, md. that's not the real acc. and boston college is about as far from the acc as you can get. it would be like the sec adding uconn. doesn't make any sense whatsoever. and i'd be willing to bet 10-15 years from now they won't be in the acc.

A quick geography lesson...Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida are on the EAST coast.
