Hey Jim,

Of your 12 selections for this week which 3 are you most confident about ...your three best locks ?

btw, I think you'll improve this week. You are more balanced. Last week you might have overdosed on favorites ( which is commonly impulsive for novice pickers). I see 5 favorites & 7 dogs this week.

Your dogs didn't do too well last week.

Methinks you ride Jim a little hard on his picks when your record isn't that stellar either.

Hen, make a deal with you. You provide me with your three best picks and then I'll provide you with mine.

I don't have any best picks. I lost $ last week. What I was getting at was actually using your 3 most confident picks in a parlay. Don't you want to help me out ?

You talking about my 1-2 big sample record ?...or what record are you talking about ?

Hey, you went 1-2 and I went 2-10. I know not to bet money because, like you say, I am definitely a subpar performer in this stuff.

I still think USC -7 (Trojans held SJSU to 9 yds on the ground, the Bucks gave it up in bunches plus USC defense owns opponents in big games); I'm dropping the Wyoming +32 (that 1.5 points was my cusp); that BYU at Tulane game smells like a trap but I'm not confident enough to pick it either way. I'd say that OSU's offense will show better vs. Houston but the Cougar offense is more in synch than was Georgia's. That seems like a good one to me (Houston +15). Notre Dame at Michigan is a mystery. Wolverines beat Wisconisn and Illinois last year but lost to Toledo. Both want the swagger back as they are epic programs. Irish now know about UM rollouts. Clausen has a good game. Almost too close to call bu the luck of the Irish will be the difference. I can't see why Kansas, even giving up 12.5 to UTEP, can't win by at least two TDs. Wins aren't taken for granted in Lawrence. They don't want to relinquish that feeling. Reesing and Meier nickle and dime them to death.

Over the years, I haven't seen your name on the top of these little pick lists that we do.

Ok thanks,
USC-7, Hous +15 and Kan -12.5, right ? The lines have changed a bit but I'll mimic a 3 team parlay which pays 6/1 since I've already made my plays for the week. Maybe I'll use your best selections for next week but I'd need them by early Thursday morning.

For what it's worth.... I don't think most college football seasons ever give you a better bet that USC -7 against OSU.... If I were in Vegas THIS week... that would probably be my only bet....

People are concerned that the Frosh QB will get rattled and make poor throws... hell, he might not make ANY throws... And, he hand's off just fine.

I also agree... that Houston getting points looks like a good bet. I expect the Cowboys have been celebratin just a little this week... and, the Cougar offense is for real. OSU will have to score a bunch of points to cover that spread.

Not sure about a third... I think, I'd pick the stupid Vols as a better option. UCLA travels a long way, and they're not very good... Plus, Kiffin is one guy you can count on to run up the score... ( I suspect, anyway.... )

I would not touch the ND/Michigan game. I feel confident about a ND win, but the ND coaching staff has proven they can rip open the jaws of victory and pull out a loss.

I don't know if you've noticed, but BlueHen keeps tabs of everyone's predictions, no matter how insignificant, and then compiles the erroneous ones for a dumbeth award ceremony.....

with his predictions curiously missing.

That's OK. I always remind him of his "VT won't win more than 7 games this year" dumbeth statements. He didn't say it this year, so watch the Hokies go 0-12 :(

but pertinent these days.

Anybody have data on how Swine Flu may have affected some rosters? I've heard of a couple of teams but can't recall (I'm doing this on the fly).

Ole Miss has been rocked, as Zoom reported. 20+ players.
Luckily, they are off this week.

Cody for Bama had the flu(swine? not sure) a couple of days before the VPI game. I never heard his name called. Unusual for him. He said the day before the game he had not eaten in 2 days. Also unusual for him. ;)

Not exactly Aufan. I keep track of ridiculous embellishments relating to some predictions....for example 'team A is so superrior it's going to beat the snot out of team B' and also brilliant stuff like " Mississippi State is so physical that it would dominate in any other league "

See what I mean?

ND clearly had the Team to win this game.
Playing against a bunch of Freshmen and Sophs.
I wonder if Urban Meyer's phone number is unlisted?

That was an exciting game (UND at Michigan). Both epic programs with a winning attitude this year. Michigan impressed me and Notre Dame blew opportunities to put it away. I thought the Irish were a day or two ahead of Michigan in the grand scheme of things but I think the Wolverines just might be a couple of days ahead of the Irish. Congratualtions again the the MICHIGAN WOLVERINES.

Its possible Arkansas might be more susceptible to it than most teams...

I thought it was an exciting game to watch too. And it reminded me of FSU vs Miami last week. 2 great rivals who used to be great football teams, playing with a lot of heart, and looking like the teams of old.

But as FSU showed against J-State today, all that FSU-Miami game proved was the two teams were equal, but not 'back'. Until I see otherwise, I think this ND-UM showed about the same.

Thank god we don't have to listen about ND's chance at a MNC game anymore.
