On the 26th, I am hoping they come to Death Valley for Clemson / TCU.
Other options for that day are Cal-Oregon and Penn State-Iowa.

More tuned into Georgia at Oklahoma St. Georgia is highly over-rated this year. looking 7-5, maybe 8-4...at best.

What makes you think Georgia's highly overrated? I'm not saying you're wrong: I'm interested in hearing your take on it. Are the departures of Stafford, Moreno, and Massaquoi enough to call for 4-5 losses, or is there more?

Goergia will lose to Oklahoma St, a legit top 10 team, on the road, will lose to Florida, LSU, and Goergia Tech, again. And somewhere in S. Carolina, Auburn, Tennessee, Kentucky may lose another. They are rated 13th in the coaches poll. At year's end 13 is usually a 2, maybe a 3 loss team. 4 loss teams, if ranked are in the 20-25 range, but usually UNRANKED. 5 loss teams are never ranked.
UGA is highly OVERRATED. If a 3 loss team they should be in the 16,17,18 range, if 4 losses, 22, 23, or so, AT BEST. UGA will be an SEC title contender in 2010, but NOT in 2009. They are MIDDLING SEC team this year.

Thanks for the response. I was hoping you'd offer some opinions on why your guaranteed losses are guaranteed.
And just as an aside, the last time Georgia was ranked #13 in the preseason (2007), the finished the year 11-2, #2 (AP) and #3 (USAT). No, I'm not predicting that kind of success this year, but before that season started, most people questioned our young, fairly inexperienced quarterback and our lack of a returning proven running back -- the same questions that are being asked now. Until play on the field provides some answers, I don't see how it can be anything but a total guess whether UGA will be 10-2 or 7-5.
And in 2010, we'll have another new starting QB, so I'm even less sure about that.

Collecting DOY nominees. We'll see how Zoom's bold projection plays out. If he's right a brilliancy award is in order.

To argue that #13 is to high you would look squarely at the inexperience at QB. I think UGA will have a decent running game especially with the experience on the line but the QB position is a huge unknown that will determine if UGA losses 2 or 5 games. Defensively they should be sound with the returning LB's. Looking at the schedule I think 3 to 4 losses is probably right. OK St is the first game of the season and is on the road. It will be tough to come out of that one with a win. Florida will be favored as well. LSU is at home and GT is at the end of the season which will give your QB a season with the offense. Those games could go either way.
Now looking at the preseason ranking over the past 2 years 10 teams finished in the top 20 with 4 losses. That being the case #13 maybe be a bit high but certainly not to far off.

NCT,
I wouldn't lose sleep over Zoomie's predictions, even the ones where he uses his famous ALL CAPS for emphasis. He's been wrong before. Like when he predicted that Oklahoma would blow out Florida in a 62-24 type of game in the BCS Title Game last year.

Oh, I'm not losing any sleep, for sure. I just thought it might be interested in hearing the opinions of somebody who, as we say, "ain't from around here."
Since Richt's hire, Georgia's won fewer than ten games in a season only once: 2001 (Richt's first year, 8-4) and 2006 (9-4). Both years, freshman QBs started most or all of the games. I think there's reason for optimism.

FWIW, I actually think that Georgia is a bit under-rated and will end up being our toughest regular season game in 2009 in addition to the @ LSU game. And since UGA is an eastern opponent, that game is more of a "must win" than the LSU game is. We can actually lose to LSU and still control our own destiny for the SEC East Division and trip to Atlanta for the SECCG.

I concur, I believe 8-4/7-5 is the bottom end of the range for the Dawgs.
Offensive line should be better, and certainly capable replacements for the departures.
