Every year I get a kick out of posting these to see if any of them come true.
Baylor will upset either OU or Texas to get to 6-6 and then stomp the be-jesus out of thier bowl opponent.
Florida wont make the SEC title game. The should. Everything points to them getting there without a hiccup, but my spidey sense tells me they used up all thier luck last season and in the title game vs OU.
Remember Clemson? They have under-performed the last few seasons. I think this is the year they put it all together. Watch out!
There wont be any BCS-busters this year. The MWC will suffer from not having an auto-invite and too many top tier teams that knock each other off. Imagine if the Big 12 and SEC did not have auto-bids. THATS what Utah and TCU have to face this year.
VT will beat bama and then lose to Nebraska.
Oregon State will win the Pac-10 this season.
Miami will hand OU its only loss of the season.

Interesting hunches, but I gotta disagree on some...
Florida has a schedule made for a championship...theyve got one of the smartest head coaches around, and one of the best college QBs to ever play the game...it would be absolutely amazing if someone derailed them
I also think the winner of the Texas/OU game will have a great shot at getting to the Championship...Bradford and McCoy will have another year under their belts...I don't see many teams competing with them, certainly not Miami
I see this year picking up where last year ended....Florida, Texas, and Oklahoma will be the top dogs again....too bad USC and Utah got left out of the mix last year, blah

Since these are 'hunches' rather than guaranteed predictions I won't save them for possible 'dumbth of the year' nominees.

Oregon State winning the PAC 10 eh? With Cal, Southern Cal, Oregon and Arizona State on the road? I think not. Almost entirely new defensive personnel. 2010 might be the year to make that, toughest games all at home, will have many returning starters, many seniors, just will need the newly starting QB, whether it be the Virginia reject Lalich or Katz or Engstrom to be solid.
I did pick Baylor to go 6-6, just not seeing a win over Oklahoma or Texas.
The mid-major BCS crasher may be decided on the opening Thursday. There are very very very few chances for Boise State to lose after the opener against Oregon. 1-loss Boise State should be eliminated from the BCS based on having no good teams left to beat. 1-loss TCU still would have an excellent shot at the BCS, either by being in the top 12 or because I don't know that any Big East team can finish above them.

Beware of labeling schedules before any CF has been played. Nobody has real clue of SOS in August.

With all due respect, what the hell are you smoking? Where did you get it as clearly you've relaxed your mind.
 Baylor to upset OU or Texas? I think not. Baylor may upset Texas Tech or even Nebraska even though I think they'll take just Texas A&M, Iowa State and possibly Missouri and win vs. Kent State, UConn and NW State (? on the last one). Yes, 6-6 is a very solid expectation. I think they play Minnesota or possibly a Purdue in the Insight.Com Bowl.
 OK, now with Florida. They do not play Alabama or Mississippi. Georgia, while they'll have matured greatly by the time they meet the Gators in Jacksonville, may offer up a solid test. Tennessee will still be trying to figure out the playbook when Florida pounds them in Gainesville. LSU offers up the only real serious threat in my estimation. Perhaps Florida State will ahve put together a solid package by year's end and shock the Gators. I don't see Florida with more than a single loss at this time. Maybe one in the title game but it depends on the SEC West champion. Clearly, for the first time in years the SEC West is the better division down in dixie.
 Clemson? They'll be a solid team but Virginia Tech is the team to beat. North Carolina, Georgia Tech and Miami are going to make some noise. UNC is a solid dark horse and wouldn't surprise me too greatly to actually see them win the ACC. Butch Davis is a miracle worker. Of course, he has an Oklahoma connection so it is no wonder he has a great football mind.
;) I tend to agree with you that the MWC powers are each suseptible to each other this year. I don't see an undefeated team in the MWC. TCU should be the favorite. Too bad the Cotton Bowl doesn't have a clause to allow a MWC champ in. The Las Vegas Bowl is a slap in the face for an 11-1 kick ass MWC team.
:) I think the VPI vs. Alabama game is a tossup. Can't argue with you one way opr the other on that one.
 Oregon State will go about 8-4 and probably no better than 6-3 in Pac Ten play. Oregon and California offer up serious challenges to Southern Cal. If the Ducks or Bears actually win the Pac Ten expect to see an 11-1 or 10-2 Trojan team in a BCS anyway (Fiesta or Sugar).
 Miami is going to offer up a very stiff challenge to Oklahoma. The Canes will have played Florida State, Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech prior to playing the Sooners. They could come in 0-3. Even if they do, they'll be a severly battle tested team and OU will not intimiate them. I see a hard game with OU hopefully winning on the road. I see a 10-13 point OU win here.

Am I the only one that picked up on the fact that these two "gut feelings" add up to you thinking Baylor will beat Texas this year??
Unless more than 11 starters are out with injury.. it AIN'T happening this year.
Texas has more stars than the Milky Way this year.. we'll be playing the Gators in the Rose Bowl!
I recommend Pepcid AC for your gut... sounds like you've got some issues.
Perhaps you're unaware of the fact that the overwhelming majority of the stars in the Milky Way are red dwarfs? Hell, even our sun is a dwarf star.
I agree that Baylor won't beat Texas but I'm skeptical that Texas will meet Florida for the national championship. In fact it wouldn't surprise me one bit if neither made it.

Just curious what "luck" you are talking about?
Winning a national title takes some luck. Too many opportunities for things to go wrong in a game. I was talking about the whole season, but just take the title game. "what if" OU gets the pass interference call ? What if Wilson doesnt "brain fart" in the red zone and call off tendency? What if Bradford does not try to force a pass? What if thats Murray instead of Brown inside the five?
People look at the final result and UF tremendous effort/season and just forget that OU was in that game all the way and on the verge of a 21-7 half-time lead but for a few very minor things.
Again, not trying to detract from the great team and great season that UF had, just saying there was a lot of what I call "luck". (OU had plenty of that in 2000 to get there and win it all)

LSU will beat Florida this year. In fact, LSU will win the conference imo. (put that down in the dumbth prediction thread if you want)
I also think Florida loses another unexpected game against either UGA or Tenn. I agree that the UF schedule is as weak a championship schedule as there will ever be, but again, I think the "luck" was all used up last season. The ball wont bounce thier way forever. Eventually another team is gonna get the breaks it takes.

If anyone other than USC wins the Pac Ten this year it's probably going to be Cal or Oregon. I feel OSU will have a nice year, but that schedule looks to daunting at the moment. Also, OSU produced the 2nd most NFL players from this past season....they're not going to replace all of them in one year. Mike Riley is a phenomenal coach, but if this team wins the Pac Ten he's coach of the year!

I could do some "what ifs" going the other way (in favor of Florida) in that game too. I see it all differently. I see a team that beat back to back #1 teams in Alabama and Oklahoma by double digits each to end the season, and won all other games by double digits with the exception of a one-point 31-30 loss to Ole Miss after missing an extra point that would have tied the game and after back to back unforced turnovers on our own end of the field which led to 10 quick and easy Ole Miss points. If anything, I think we had bad luck last year as we lost our only really really close game after the above events. I'll give you a few bounces that went our way in the OU game, but I really don't see any other luck that went our way anywhere else during the season that made the difference in winning or losing a game.
