was cleared. We are finally down to double digits (99 days) until kickoff! Just think in a mere 14 weeks and a day college football will be here.

yeah, I can't wait to spend $350 on fuel driving to Baton Rouge and back.

Hen - You're making the trip to Death Valley? Wow...good for you. But I must warn you...the LSU fans get pretty riled up, especially for night games!

I've heard that and am a little concerned.

Ah don't worry. It's quite an experience...enjoy it! The fans are passionate, and as long as you don't stick out by saying or doing anything that would rile them up, you'll be fine. If you're looking for a great place to eat near the stadium, I recommend Mike Anderson's. Great seafood! And tasting the different mixes of jambalaya at all of the different tailgate parties before the game is fun too.

Thanks GG. ...Sooooo you don't think they'll be painting my truck purple and gold out in the parking lot or spitting on us or anything like that ?

Nah...as long as you "behave" you should be fine. But just expect a pretty loud and crazy environment. SEC stadiums are crazy, especially at night, especially at LSU! I'm hoping to get there for the Florida-LSU game in October which should also be a night game if I were a betting man.

Maybe the intelligent ones (LSU fans) will be nice to visiting Hokie fans out of respect for the shooting massacre. It's the luck of the draw as to what types you sit near. Most big time Southern FB schools have some idiot fans, including Va Tech. Kirk Herbstreit said the loudest and most intimidating home environment that he has experienced were night games at Lane Stadium in Blacksburg .....but I'm looking forward to the Tiger Stadium experience. Those LSU folks will probably think I'm some wack-o, anyway, as I'll probably be wearing my old Delaware Blue Hen cap. Now, my son - he'll be in Chicago Maroon, head to toe.

Yes, VT certainly looks like a great atmosphere.

I would love to see a game there someday.

Yeah, come on up and give it a try. You'll probably enjoy the beautiful mountains surrounding Blacksburg and the great mountain air and natural tasting water. My son lives in Florida (Deland area) and can't wait to re-locate to the Blue Ridge Mountains where he grew up.

If Florida ever plays at VT, I am there. Of course, this is unlikely given the current money-driven system we have now where scheduling home and home games with solid OOC teams doesn't happen as often as it should. Nobody wants to give up too many home games, which bring in a lot of cash. Nor do they want to risk an extra unnecessary loss with such an emphasis on going unbeaten in the BCS.
