I've read on a couple different sports sites how Louisville is a powerhouse now....are they really?

Here are their best wins over the last few years (along with opponent's record):

2004
TCU (5-6) 55-28
Liberty Bowl vs. Boise State (11-1) 44-40

2005
Oregon State (5-6) 63-27

2006
Miami (7-6) 31-7
@ Kansas State (7-6) 24-6
South Florida (9-4) 31-8
West Virginia (11-2) 44-34
Orange Bowl vs. Wake Forest (11-3) 24-13

Pretty impressive 2006. Very impressive 2004 win over Boise State.

Powerhouse? In the eyes of the beholder perhaps.

I would think to be considered a "powerhouse" you should have won at least several conference championships and at least one or two MNC's.

The thing about Louisville is that it, now ,can pitch a recruiting angle to prospects.....'come play for us and help us win a national championship, because we're in a league, now, that is permitted to compete for national championships'

This is what CJH has been hammering on and it's the truth. Leagues that are allowed to compete for mega $ TV bowls and MNCs can draw better talent.
Powerhouse now ????....maybe not, but ,now, at least Louisville has an opportunity to become one.....because of that little 'BCS' moniker.

The two class system stinks.
