Blame the media and don't politicize the war against terror or in Iraq. That was Cheney's routine response to questions about why we did what we did. Conservative ate it up and liberals probed further. Now, Cheney publicly states what the media and educated thought all along in that we went into Iraq to take over the country and its oil resources and that there was no connection between Iraq and the war against extremists until the US invaded.
Hmmm, he might as well have said that he sent troops into harm's way so his corporate buddies could make millions and his team created 9-11 and wars in order to stave off the impending economic and jobs crises that Bush inherited resulting from the dot-com bust and the major corporate accounting scandals.
Can't wait until the next public interview. Then, he will state how he admires the Yankees bullish approach in buying free agents without having to give up more than draft picks. He might state that any team could do the same thing but they haven't because they misapplied the tax cut benefits that make fiscal conservatives giddy. Plumber Joe however would chew it up and go out and buy a Yankees cap. Cheney might choose to say that the Yanks have actually reduced their payroll from last year and have room and the desire to employ Manny Ramirez to make up the shortfall. After all, the nation's economic fundamentals are strong and our troops have volunteered, just ask those Damn Yankees.
