View Full Version : How about this for a cluster for the BCS....
Utah is in...
If Cincinnati wins on Saturday, they are in...
Some crappy ACC team is...
If Oregon State beats Oregon, they are in...
Missouri can screw up the whole Big 12 fiasco even more by winning the Championship game...they would be in..
Suppose Alabama or Florida lose before the SEC championship and then the team that loses, win's the SEC...
Penn State is in the Rose Bowl with a great possiblity of playing a team they beat 45-14 in the regualr season....
That leaves three spots for Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, USC, the SEC loser, a probable undefeated Boise State...
The championship game would most likely include a team that didn't win it's conference championship...
The Orange Bowl could have UC against a horrible ACC team in a stadium that would be half empty..
The BCS game would probably be Texas or Oklahoma vs USC provided they don't lose to Notre Dame...both BCS game teams would be at large bids....you can only hope for such a mess.

hey that sounds about as good as watching Ohio State get blown out by SEC teams in National Championships
We'll get a chance to see how crappy the ACC is this weekend, with 3 SEC vs. ACC matchups...I think some people are going to be surprised
I don't get how raining on the parade of Oregon State, Penn State, and Cincinnati shows how the BCS is going to suck this year...the Rose Bowl is going to mean alot to both Oregon State and Penn State, and I bet it will be a great game
Brian Kelly has done wonders at Cincinnati...he's really put them on the map, and they deserve what ever BCS bowl they play in
what comes across as attractive to the average college football fan shouldn't supercede what the players and coaches of these teams have accomplished this year
Man, where do I start. First, I didn't even mention Ohio State...what do they have to do with this years' BCS games being a debacle...absolutely nothing. Ohio State is 4-2 in BCS games and 1-2 in championship games and yes, they didn't look very good losing the past two years. But neither has Oklahoma, which has lost 4 straight BCS games and no one gives them sh!t about it...
Brian Kelly - he will be gone from UC by early January - and he has won at UC with players that Mark Dantonio recruited and put in position to do so well the past two season. But if you listen to Kelly, it's been all him. Having said that, Oklahoma toyed with UC and UConn blew them out - they're in a very weak conference and that's why they're at the top of the heap. It's a great story for our city but UC will still continue to be a stepping stone job because other places can offer a coach so much more in the long run.
Penn State vs Oregon State - you think the game will be as good as the one in September when PSU waxed the Beavers, 45-14? Do you really think that's the match-up the Rose Bowl wants? Are you kidding me? The only people who will care about that game is Joe Paterno's wife and the city of Corvailis.
There's a lot of football to be played and my guess is things will be a little clearer come the first weekend in December. But I'd love to see it thrown into a total cluster because that's the only thing that will get us closer to a real championship playoff.
