Hey, they were the top conference last year...they were absolutely loaded last year

What happened?

Tennessee bottomed out
LSU imploded at QB
Georgia never got past 1st gear
Auburn got fancy with the offense
Arkansas lost their coach
Kentucky lost their QB

Sure you've got a couple of top teams, but the meat has fallen off the bones people

this isn't last years SEC

Maybe next week will prove me wrong...there are 3 ACC vs. SEC games, and the ACC is ALL meat, but no top

I can't disagree with you at this point...but I'll wait to see what happens this weekend and in the bowl games before coming to a final conclusion.

SEC goes 1-2 vs. the ACC this weekend

I think thats 2-5 vs. the ACC for the whole year

Futhermore, Auburn was completely blanked in the Iron Bowl...LSU implodes down the stretch

At least the SEC is giving everyone a nice cut and dry, play-in game to the National Championship

Clemson, Wake Forest and Georgia Tech won. Florida State lost. That is 3-1 and not 2-1.

SEC came through in the bowl season pretty well...

Among the victims:
Georgia Tech
Texas Tech
Oklahoma
Boston College

SEC posted a 6-9 regular season record vs other BCS leagues but looked real good in the PSEGs to achieve a 12-11 overall record vs its BCS peers.
Also, very slightly over average, is the SEC's up-to-date BCS era record vs BCS peers. It now stands at 103-99 (51%)

If I am not mistaken, the SEC has gone 7-2, 6-3, and 6-2 for a total of 19-7 over the last three bowl seasons. Going 6-2 this year was pretty impressive this year IMO given the fact that the SEC did not enjoy a relative matchup advantage in any of the eight games. The SEC has also won the last three BCS National Championship Games in a row and is 5-0 in such games in the BCS Era.

Well, the SEC was 6-2 in bowls, again. And won the BCS NC game, 3X in a row now. The SEC was horribly mismatched in bowls. Ole Miss vs Texas Tech (Big 12 #3)? Vandy vs BC (ACC #2)? I figured the SEC to go 4-4 at best. They did much better than they should have.

Maybe not up to SEC standards this year, but in no way "overrated".

Nah, those teams are never mis-matched because they out dumbth everybody else :-)
