The BTN flipped over to that game in OT. CP's kicker missed three XPs. The second miss would have given CP a nine point lead with four minutes left. Instead, Wisconsin tied it with a TD and two-point conversion with less than two minutes left. CP drove down and had a 47 yard attempt to win. They gave a freshman his first career attempt and he missed badly. In OT, CP scored a TD on its first play, but the kicker missed his third XP. Wisconsin followed witha TD and PAT to win the game. Had CP won, they would have been #2 in my point system.

15 out 16. The selection committee chose 8-4 Maine over 10-2 Liberty. Under my point system, Maine finished 10th among at-large teams. In the media poll, Liberty finished 14th and Maine 20th. Below is how the 16 playoff teams rank amonst each other under my point system followed by their rank amongst each other in the media poll. From what I can tell, we need subjectivity in order to validate our biases.
1-James Madison 1
2-Appalachian State 2
3-South Carolina State 12
4-Montana 5
5-Villanova 6
6-Cal Poly 3
7-Wofford 8
8-Richmond 7
9-Northern Iowa 4
10-New Hampshire 10
11-Southern Illinois 9
12-Eastern Kentucky 15
13-Weber State 11
14-Colgate 13
15-Maine 14
16-Texas State 16

Almost had 3 Virginia schools in there.
Maybe UVa can play in this division next year.

Wow. CP , IMO, will be co -favorite along with ASU & JMU but this D1 national championship is wide open. This is the greatest post season event. No computers or poll voters allowed.....just CF.

...our current offense isn't FCS quality, right now. It might be ok in DIII. Soooo, you're not worried about Groh dumping on Frank & Bud ???

You got that right Hen. And my Mountaineers start the trek for 4 with a tough game Saturday against S. C. State. It should be a good game and will be on ESPNU Sat at high noon.
GO APPS!!!

Don't know much about SC St. Those MEAC teams generally flop in the playoffs. I'm going to try and get down to an ASU playoff game as they advance toward an unprecendented 4th consecutive NC. Even Mt Union hasn't done that.

Its a shame that money undermines the FCS though. JMU is the #1 seed and they play the highest ranked team in the first round among home teams. They should get Texas State. Wofford should be a potential second round opponent.

It's not just money but also regionalism. Ever since 2001, the NCAA has only 4 seeded teams and tries to keep teams playing each other in the same region, to lower the cost of travel. But you are right, Wofford should not being going to JMU for a first round.

No. I'm not worried about Groh dumping on Frank and Bud.
I'm worried about VT imploding from their own mistakes, but I'm not worried about what Groh will be doing.
Bryan Stinespring has GOT to go. I don't care how young the offense is, you can't have the 108th ranked offense in Div1, and hope to be a credible contender for championships. The offense has been steadily going backwards over the last few years.
