If Oklahoma beats Texas Tech and loses to Oklahoma State while Texas Tech beats Baylor and Texas beats Texas A&M, Texas Tech wins the Big 12 South, but Texas gets to #2 in the BCS and makes the title game without winning their division.

Oklahoma is up 21-0 and looks unstoppable right now. Utah up big against BYU.
USC could still make it if either FL or AL wins the SEC title game after losing the week before. However, they would have to jump Oklahoma which could be difficult.

But in all honesty thanks for the data. I think OU will beat Oklahoma State next week. They know what is at stake. It will be a better game than this one but I now feel confident OU will come out on top. Texas will not rise above #3.

USC plays a 6-5 Notre Dame (who lost to Syracuse) and UCLA , which is weak. What kind of style points can they possibly get to out gun Oklahoma?

We could potentially have the following:
Unbeaten Utah
Unbeaten Boise State
One loss Alabama
One loss Florida
One loss Texas
One loss Oklahoma
One loss Texas Tech
One loss Penn State
One loss USC
If that happened, how could one realistically pick only TWO teams? The idea that you can narrow it down from 120 teams to 2 teams in just 12-13 games with teams playing such different schedules is just plain silly.

I can certainly see a scenario where OU and Texas rematch for the bogus BCS title.....

Easy. Boise St and Utah. No debate.

Yes, if Florida loses to FSU and then beats Alabama in the SEC Title Game, Oklahoma wins out, and Texas wins out, I think that's what you would see...

It is still possible to see Texas-USC or Oklahoma-USC with neither having won their conference. It would take some strange results over the next two weeks, but it is still possible.

The BCS is a train wreck and who wouldn't stop to look at a train wreck ?? That's the one and only argument for this system......it's idiocy creates its popularity. Doesn't say much about the collective intelligence of CF fans.

Texas Tech is headed for the Cotton Bowl whatever they are ranked. Mark it down.

If Ole Miss beats Mississippi State do you think they will face Texas Tech in the Cotton Bowl? Will be a good test between a vasty improved Ole Miss and the air circus from Lubbock. Leach always prepares well for bowl games and Nutt, while at Arkansas, had a history of losing bowl games. I think it might be more intriguing if Missouri went to the Cotton Bowl, assuming a 10-3 year (losses to Okla. State, Texas and the Big 12 title game) while Tech went out to the Holiday Bowl to play Oregon State, Arizona or Cal in San Diego. I think Texas Tech would win regardless of the bowl.

in bcs...so, lets see here...texas beats agies by say 30...okla beats ok st by a respectable but not emphatic 10...fla. beats bama by say 8...texas is in you say and oklahoma may stay ahead of florida unless the gators win by 42-1o type socre..and if they do, do they surpass oklahoma..and what if texas only edges missouri by say 3 in big 12 title game..will okla. and fla both jump them????..the utter absuridity of the bcs-- when a simple post-bowl 4 team playoff woudl clear this up...and there goes texas tech to the cvotton bowl no matter what..a superb 11-1 team playing in weak bowl when cincinatti and a pitiful acc champ wil sqaure off in the orange bowl showcase turned into the claiber of an espn-2 noon game no one would otherwise watch...

How would a simple post bowl 4 team playoff clear anything up ? You didn't even mention Boise St. or Utah.

...but if oklahoma, with wins over a very good tcu team and big east champs to be cincy loses out to texas, it will be jsut ridicuous..or, if okla winds up playing texas again with fla. left out in the cold assuming a win over bama, same thing...i might be mistaken as i heard it on the radio half paying attention..after sat, texas is STILL ahead of okla in bcs?????...amazing if so...

Problem is this. OU is ahead of Texas in both the human polls.
Texas is ahead in the computer poll. So no matter how much either team wins by OU will gain on Texas in the computer polls based on who they play.
Unless Texas goes out and throttles A&M and Oklahoma Struggles with OSU (which is possible) that's the only chance I think Texas has to stay ahead.
Texas is only ahead by .008. So with a win over Oklahoma State, Oklahoma will pass Texas most likely.
The worst thing about all this all the begging the coaches have to do. Bias can come into play for coaches and harris poll voters.
Unless something shady happens with the voting or an OSU upset of Oklahoma, the Sooners should be in the Big 12 Championship.

...for 40 years...but i want to see the two best play for the title....and that would be oklahoma vs. fla/bama...texas is a very god team, but i see flaws there and at their very best i dont think they can handle florida in a title game the way the gators are playing right now...

...and I'd love to see Missouri take home the B12 Championship trophy !!!!
No biased, corrupt, poll voters or computers could prevent that if Mizzou should win.

The Gators are really cooking, no doubt...but against SEC and 1AA opposition. No predictions...just a little 'BEWARE" from the Hen.

We also played Hawaii (WAC) and Miami (ACC.)

..and your lowest scoring total of the season was against Miami. Also, GG, I have a complaint to file with you regarding that game. If Meyer hadn't decided to kick that unnecessary last second FG.....obviously, just to cover the point spread, I would have won $1200 for that weekend. Therefore, as much as I dislike Saban It's going to take awhile to forgive Meyer. Go Bama ! :-)

Yes, our lowest total of the season was against Miami...in game #2. This team didn't hit stride offensively until mid-season. I was at that game and Miami was also playing that game "not to get blown out." They prevented the big play, and were ultra conservative on offense...milking clock on both sides of the ball. It almost worked as the score was only 9-3 late in the 3rd Qtr. A very frustrating and boring game to be at actually. Sorry about the $$$ loss. Getting our FG kicker his first ever attempt before going to Knoxville, covering the spread, and getting back at Miami for some "things" that went on off the field a few months ago on the recruiting trail led to that IMO. I am actually nervous about the FSU game in Tallahassee this weekend.
