ROSE: Penn State vs. Southern Cal (Oregon State will drop one more game).

Sooners will not overtake Texas in polls even with two wins - Texas selected to represent Big 12 South. Longhorns have a tougher time but prevail 31-24 over Missouri. Alabama will prove that defense is in fact stronger than offense with a narrow 21-20 win over Florida in SEC title game.
Final BCS Polls Top 10:
Alabama (13-0)
Texas (12-1)
Oklahoma (11-1)
Southern Cal (11-1)

....no inherent love for the gators, but dotn discount the fact they are playing defense with real ferocity comapred to earlier in the season and last year or the fact that they have blocked soemthign like 5 fg's and punts over last 3 games and additiaonlly have arguiably the best kickoff/pubt return talent in the naiton....bama has a fine d, smart --- especially that seocndary, but conventional wisdom is correct this time- fla. has so many weapons, they look like a jr. nfl team...now, alabama's O is itself questionable...some decent runners and the remarkable "crabtree-like" freshman jones at widoeut, but i cant see them scoring more than 17 vs. gators..this means bama's d will have to brign back the ghsots of lee roy jordan, barry krauss and that entire 1992 secondary to slow down fla. . but they really dotn have that degree of stellar d no matter how well they are playing...so, its gonna be the gators..after seeing fsu fla flat agaisnt b.c., fla. doesn't need to fear the upset there...fsu's qb will be overwhelmed....if bc could move the ball so easily vs fsu d, flaorida will be in the 30's here...fsu lacks the offense to keep pace...
Rose Bowl - Ohio State vs Oregon State
Fiesta Bowl - Pittsburgh (UC's Brian Kelly is too full of himself) vs Boise State
Sugar Bowl - Texas vs Alabama
Orange - ACC champ (and quite frankly, I don't care who) vs USC
BCS - Texas Tech vs Florida
Left out - Oklahoma (loses to TTech), Penn State (loses to MSU) and Utah (loses to BYU).
Michigan State goes to Capital One Bowl
Penn State to Outback Bowl
Northwestern to Alamo Bowl

Fiesta will not take Utah over a Big 12 team.
With your assumptions of Texas-Alabama in the championship game, the Sugar would take Florida as a replacement team and the Fiesta would take Oklahoma as a replacement team.
Then, with the first pick, the Fiesta would likely take Ohio State unless Oregon State wins out, then they would take USC.
The Sugar would then have to decide between Utah and Cincinnati with the Orange getting the other team.
But I think Ohio State fans would rather go to one of the Florida Bowl games over a 5th trip to Phoenix since 2002/03.

Florida will be a substantial favorite @ FSU, no doubt, but keep a couple things in mind.
A) The 'relative safety factor' of playing in and beating up SEC competition. In this decade the Gators have clobbered SEC teams at a .743 clip (55-19).
...but when stepping out of that league and playing teams from other BCS conferences the Gators have a .474 success rate (9-10).
B) The FSU kids are, collectively, at least as dumb as the UF kids.
I'm not predicting anything but just be aware of the SEC relative safety factor.

Considering that most of those non-conference BCS teams have consisted of playing programs like FSU, Miami, and other solid programs in bowl games, I don't think that success rate is all that bad. At least in the SEC, you get some weaker teams once in a while.
Also, Florida has beaten FSU four years in a row, two coming in Tallahassee. Urban Meyer is also 10-1 against our three main rivals (Georgia, FSU, and Tennessee.) He knows how to win rivalry games. I like our chances!

In a true national championship playoff system, Florida might not be seeded by the NCAA among the top-4 seeds. However, all that Florida would need is to be seeded anywhere among the 16 playoff teams in order to have an opportunity to prove that it is the best team in the country at championship time.
