Remember 2003 Oklahoma and their "revenge tour"? They lost close, tough games to Okie St and Tx A&M the year before. In 2003, they best those teams by a combined 129-9.

Revenge tour redux?

Hoping Tech wins, but think OU wins a high scoring game.

Texas Tech:
Net 74 yards rushing on 21 rushes (includes two sacks) and one TD. Harrell gets 387 passing going 32-44 with four TDs and one pick = 461 total yards. Points = 38. One long KO runback leads to a 25 TD drive. One rushing TD. Crabtree gets two passes for TDs. Two other receivers get one each.

Oklahoma:
Net 141 yards rushing on 26 rushes (includes two sacks) and two TDs. Murray breaks three runs for 50 total yards and Brown breaks one for 16. Bradford goes 24-36 for 405 yards and three TDs with one pick = 546 total yards. Points = 45. Cheney, Gresham and Broyles catch one TD pass each. Bradford runs one in from the one yard line. Brown gets a TD as well as Matt Clapp.

Oklahoma 45, Texas Tech 38. No OT.

well done...i'll get all verbose on this one later in the week- but the obvious point is -- whcih offense clicks and with 2 weeks to prepare- whcih D can scheme to effectively slow down the other O....techs 2huge wins have come at home..note that they barely held on at lincoln vs ganz and company late...although it was indeed shock and awe at kansas.....though its hard to think an offense this effective and filled with playmakers at rb and tb will implode under pressure, can they play almost perfectly on O AGAIN?!?!? . murray and brown are an excellent combo and oklahoma can win this game with a slow it down a little balanced run/pass game. look for murray to break at least 1 40-plus yard run. look for tex tech to give up 2 long pass td's...which means they will have to be hitting on all cylinders on O with minimal error. tech o-line has been amazing all year..what kind of pass rush can sooners mount? their front 7 seems a little softand if you dont harass harrell, he'll kill you with time and his ability like no one else to improvise and find second and third recievers.

You're right about Harrell. If you can't pressure him he will kill you and Crabtree is going to be a problem. I expect he'll grab 9 or 10 for probably 150 yards. I think OU's defense is the really big question mark as Tech's is actually rather effective (ask Kansas, who walked through OU) and OSU, who has a potent offense. Kind of slowed down in theri past two games.

I think Beal and quite possibly Auston English will put a heavy outside rush. Hopefully a DB/LB combo can cover on the side that rush comes from. If they can force Harrell to run perhaps Austin Box, a former QB himself, along with a DT making Harrell change his direction can contain him from busting a 10-15 yarder up the middle. Without question the MLB position is the weak link since Reynolds went down. I think Venables and the otehr defesneive coaches can come up with a scheme that will confuse Harrell at least in the 1st quarter. The second half adjustment in the third quarter will indicate who will win. OU has had problems adjusting. They need to have that fixed. Film, film and more film is going to be required for them to disguise their defensive alignment. If Tech falls for it or reverts to tried and true methods perhaps OU can sneak in there. I recall Penn State doiong that extremely effecively in the 1987 (following the '86 seson) Fiesta Bowl against Miami's Testaverde (sp?). PSU won, 14-10, and had five picks in the upset of Miami for the national title.

OU is going to have to hit Harrell when the opportunity allows it. He has such a quick release almost any contact will be suspect for roughing the passer. Crabtree is going to have to get his bell rung. Perhaps one 15 yard penalty will be worth a solid shot to the ribs or even the head. Sorry, but if I think of it you can be sure players and coaches think of it. Tech must pay for taking Bradford out last year and cheating in 2005. Hopefully that damned ref who lives in Lubbock won't be on the crew. If he is expect one questionable Tech TD for sure uner his view or one less OU score.

...but the limit of that is - again- harrells qb i.q.- "testaverde" translates in italian to "green head" and cewrtainly despite a good arm, vinnies skull wasnt filled with much gray matter...not like harrell or mccoy..,..as i recall, miami ran a standard pro set vertical passing route offense and vinnie was befuddled when mid and long passes were taken away hbuy psu's specially desigend "bubble " scheme...harrell on the other hand can and will adjsut to all that oU brings that might be new...which gets to the point of physiclality....i dotn have a problem with OU coming out hyper-aggressive and gettign a perosnal foul or two early..after all its football---the problem is that texas tech is deceptively physical on offnese this year..thsoe two little scatbacks are both quick and tough and crabtree is a beast- notice when he cathces many passes the ball literally slaps agaisnt his extremely storng hands-...with britton and the other wideout out ( lewis?), you are gonna have to get max pressure up front whcih is unlikely agaisn ttechs superuior o-line unless stoops has seen somethign and devised a brand new blitz scheme...funny, how with oklahoma s explosive, hugely potent offense, we are focusing on the key being stopping harrrell...and as huge as this game itself is, add in the fact that the heisman is harrells to win if he another 38-50, 400-plus yard game on national prime time...cant wait for this one! having called texas tech as a dark horse in the big 12 , i will root for them but thimnk OU will win it late...

I hope the Red Raiders win by 18 so Oklahoma doesn't pass my Longhorns even though we beat them by 10...

Thanks Mrs. Cleo!!

I just wouldn't mind seeing TT in the MNC since OU is what, 0-3 in their last BCS bowl games...not sure didn't check.

Oklahoma is 0-4 in its last four appearances. How many has Tech made it to? So Muschamp is now acquired "Fisher's disease". When do you think Brown will retire from Texas?
