Seems like the media is sure eager to find something wrong with USC recruiting

Something's gotta give.

Where there's smoke there's fire and there's been an awful lot of of smoke coming out of Compton recently.

Well, for whatever reason, they're not all that interested in the Reggie Bush situation--a story they could've been milking since last spring--so they're trying with this one.

As far as the Reggie Bush thing goes, I highly doubt there's any probation involved there. But there could be a Heisman stripped and some forfeits. But that's probably the worst case.

Then with McKnight you're in a situation strictly dealing with who said what to whom and when. Even if everything wasn't on the up and up, how are ya going to prove it? It's just people's words under investigation. People can change their stories. I mean, they're not taking an oath or anything. This, IMO, is going nowhere.

Kind of convenient how that got swept under the carpet isn't it.

Question: Does the NCAA put one of their prime money making programs on probation or just ignore their infractions?

Well, they investigated the living crap out of us. But, thankfully, no probation resulted. And the media milked us for all we were worth. The majority of the crap because of one nut job. yet USC has gotta soap opera going on and....where's Tom Friend calling for Carrol and Garrett's heads? Where were the halftime hatchet jobs?

Our situation aside, there have been plenty of bigtime programs put on probation--Alabama being the most recent "name" program to get whacked. But would they put USC on probation? I think they would if there was something institutional there. But from what I've heard, I doubt USC sees any probation for this stuff. Some games and a Heisman perhaps, but, from what I've heard anyway, I doubt this is probation level stuff.

Pete Carrol must have his cell phone out right now posing with Mr. Bush's Heisman, and sending the pictures to every running back he can find. He obviously does not anticipate any problems. He got 3 more blue chip running backs. I doubt there is much to any of this talk, it will go away once the next football season starts.
