Or rather his playoff proposal does...according to the BCS head honchos:

"We deeply respect the president-elect and we are glad that he is a fan of college football," Frohnmayer said in an e-mail response to ESPN Tuesday. "We have the most compelling regular season in all of sports, and I'm sure that contributes to Senator Obama's enjoyment of our great game."

Frohnmayer opposes a playoff for the former Division I-A. Other presidents on the committee are Rev. John Jenkins (Notre Dame), Robert Khayat (Ole Miss), Mark Nordenberg (Pittsburgh), John Peters (Northern Illinois), Harvey Perlman (Nebraska), Graham Spanier (Penn State) and Charles Steger (Virginia Tech.)

"My colleagues and I on the BCS Presidential Oversight Committee have discussed the future of postseason football on many occasions and we do not believe a playoff would be in the best interest of the sport, the student-athletes or our many other constituencies," Frohnmayer said.

Most compelling regular season my ass!!!!!!!!!!! Three weeks left in the season and only about six teams can still think about the national title. Over in FCS, only one team has clinched with two weeks to go and about 30 teams still have playoff hopes. All of this doesn't count the fact that the regular season as is thrives on this sport beng anti-competitive. A two-team playoff has reduced this sport to about 20 teams with an occasional outsider like Texas Tech making a run. To top it off, because teams are not allowed to lose, the best teams duck each other as much as possible. How many OOC games have been played this year involving ranked teams? There are also countless examples of great matchups that have not occurred in the 30 years since I-A was created. Nebraska and Ohio State have not played. Florida State and Texas have not played. USC and Miami have not played. While these teams are not all what they once were, the fact that the compelling regular season and bowl system did not make these game happen in favor of numerous cupcake and I-AA games makes it all a lie. How can something be compelling if the avoidance of competition makes it what it is?
