I was at work today, when I channeled the energy of the football gods themselves....I saw all great football moments, all at once, the failed 2 point conversion in the '84 Orange Bowl, Lendale White coming up short on 4th and 1 in the Rose Bowl, Tommy Frazier running over Gator defensive backs...
And they told me that I was the one to deliver this most sacred message, to college football fans everywhere...
What has this season ultimately lacked? What completes the story of this season? The answer is...Upsets!!!
Now let me show you what the football gods showed me...the story of how the rest of the season unfolds
In two weeks, the Texas Tech Red Raiders will fall on heartbreak, as they travel to Norman, and lose in a shoot out, and in the darkest moments of Red Raider fans everywhere, they'll watch on a week later as Oklahoma State upsets Oklahoma on Thanksgiving weekend, sending them to the Big XII Championship with the opportunity to surpass the 1-loss Texas team they beat in the BCS rankings
Hearts will break in the SEC as well, as Florida and Alabama both fall on November 29...both teams will be looking ahead to the SEC Championship and a possible berth in the BCS National Championship, but both will lose to rivals they have overlooked, sending the BCS into a spiral
On the Pacific Coast, USC will complete a 1-loss season with defeats over Notre Dame and UCLA...the Longhorns of Texas will watch idly as USC hurdles them in the BCS rankings with a sound thrashing of UCLA on conference championship weekend, and media talking heads will compare the jump to Florida over Michigan in 2006
And the Red Raiders and the Trojans will clash in Miami, as college football fans everywhere watch the Red Raiders complete an epic comeback and win their first National Championship
This was the vision the football gods showed me...and with a little bit of wine, I was able to type this out for the college football masses (or the 10 posters on this board)
