I gotta getsome stuff off my chest.

The SEC has some great teams, but they do NOT have 5 of the top 10. Hear me now and believe me later, Auburn and Alabama DO NOT belong in the top 10. I think Florida might be out of there as well, I am waiting for them to "show" me.

Missouri will be undefeated going into the Big 12championship and they WILL pound the living CRAP out of anyone in the country except OU and USC.

OU is the scariest offense in the land, but that secondary is just like the one that USC destroyed in the title game too few years ago. Ultra-talented, but inexperienced and mistake prone. OU will beat anyone outisde USC and mizzou on a neutral field by a pair of TD's in the regular season..... Bowl game? Thats different.

Kansas AND USF proved they are for real and a handful for ANY team in the country.

Baylor is looking very improved this year. Might they be on to something? We will find out tonight.

The BIG 12 is scary good right now, I think UT is flying under the radar.

UGA wont just beat ASU this weekend, they will win the game by half-time and the defense will finish with double digit sacks on the day.

If I have to pick the BCS title game teams right now I go with LSU and USC. Those two teams look really good and have all the ingredients to get there. They have the talent to beat anyone, and they dont have any real threats to deal with in reality, but in "perception" they will beat some good teams to get there. For instance, LSU will get mad props for annihilating and very average (for them) Auburn team tomorrow night. USC will get credit for being USC.

That "retaliation" attack on Granger by Washington was disgusting and vile. Those players and thier fans should be appalled.

GT is only a year or so away from dominating the ACC and only a few weeks away from a shocking upset win.

OOOPSS game staring...........more crazy ramblings later.

I didn't realize there was such a Big XII vs. Big East theme this week...

I'm rooting for Baylor though...Art Briles seems to have injected some life into them

they seem to be having trouble stopping UConn's running game though

Still going with BYU-USC. SEC/Big12 will eat their own over the course of the season and allow BYU to creep up. No one challenges USC in the PAC 10. BYU gets Air Force and Utah, back to back to finish their season. Get by those and the others eating their own sends BYU not only to the BCS but to the title game......where USC hammers them by 35.

Well I'll say one thing ... you're pretty damn cognitive for a drunk. Don't tell me you went to the state fair because I won't believe you. I sure hope you went blotto on some seriously good brew or distillations (Sam Adams is a very good choice - try it sometime) and Margaritas are teh only way to go unless you get really retarded and drown a 5th of Jaegarmeister like my son and I did when OU beat Missouri 38-17 last year. Drank it slow (Mine Gott! Only an insane person would do otherwise) and traded off with some Rum. Moronic? Yes. Insane? You damn well better believe it! Did we suffer afterwards? Two days!!! BTW, great post!

Anyway, I agree with you. I think Penn State belongs as they've totally nuked each team they've played. Auburn, in beating Mississippi State by 3-2, doesn't deserve to remain in the top ten. If Oklahoma beat Baylor or a Kansas State, 3-2 they'd drop 5-10 spots - and deserve it!

I do think Florida belongs there as they've pretty much controlled each opponent. LSU is very good but will not run the table. Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia and maybe a Mississippi snuck in there ... too many mines. USC will probably run the table since Oregon can't keep a QB healthy long enough to get some standardized rythm.

Missouri will probably run the table but they do travel to Texas. If the Longhorns get by at Colorado and get the best of OU then Missouri might be for trouble. Missouri's advantage, so to speak, is that Texas will have just played OU and probably be a bit emotionally drained. If they lose to OU then Mizzou better watch out.

I watched Baylor at Connecticut this evening and was shocked as they took the lead repeatedly. Had the true freshman QB (Griffin) for Baylor not thrown the ball into the dirt as often as he did and they ran thier RBs a bit more up the middle (they were successful when they did), our 0-8 Baylor would have beaten the co-champions from the Big East (who allowed but one TD this season - and late at that vs. Virginia). Too bad. But the Bears' staff has done a miracle at BU so far. They're competitive and even on the other guy's home field. That QB of theri reminds me a lot of Vince Young. He is going to revive that program and Briels is going to be successful at Baylor.

Arizona State doesn't have a defense - it is beaten up. Georgia's running game will have those guys wobbling. ASU folds against big time opponents. Georgia knows the stakes. ASU couldn't realize that vs. "UNLV" !!! Maybe their pissed though and will bring a A++ game rather than just an A-game. Might be very interesting as the SEC isn't used to traveling much and to the desert no less.

I agree that by teh time OU could play USC, USC would be perfect. I don't relish the idea of an OU-USC rematch. I don't think it would be anything like 55-19 but USC would win and probably not trail for long - if ever. Don't want to see another BCS loss. I do think however that OU would beat Missouri for the Big XII title. I predicted a BYU vs. OU Fiesta Bowl. Maybe, if I recall James Howell's process flow chart, the non-BCS at large might play in the Orange Bowl. That will be either Utah, BYU or East Carolina. If that is the case then OU would probably play a Big Ten or Pac Ten runner up (Oregon or Wisconsin/Penn State) ??? Hell I don't know. Maybe I need to do some drinking myself ???

Happy hangovers. At least OU has a bye tomorrow so you can crap out and let your brain heal.

WOW! I think Georgia Tech is closer to where I envisioned them being after a full year on this system. They just annihilated a MSU team that held the "mighty" Auburn Tigers to a field goal. I change my pick right now. LSU does not annihilate Auburn, they actually vaporize them. LSU 42, Auburn 3.

Alabama is STILL the same team that lost to Louisianna Monroe with a little more offense. They look good against nobodies, let them beat a team with a heartbeat before I believe in them. They burned me last year thinking they were "back".

Penn State sure looks like a top ten team right now.

Notre Dame will miss a bowl game again this year. Michigan really was THAT bad..........................

Big 12 still looks pretty mighty as the power teams in the SEC seem very lacking in living up to the hype so far. Only UF is doing as they should, the rest are riding on reputation to this point............Maybe UGA and LSU/Auburn can change that tonight.

How bad is UCLA?

Coach of the year as of right now: Paul Johnson.

Anyone else close?

Nope,
LSU proved they were not as good as hyped as they allowed Auburn to keep it close. The SEC is HIGHLY over rated this season.

UGA did as I said they would and scored all the points they needed to win in the first half.

I didn't think LSU was really hyped that much...hell, Les Miles kicked the top QB off the team...as an LSU fan, I just want us to get to Atlanta...

And I don't really see how the SEC is overrated, especially when compared to how lousy the other conferences have performed...

The PAC 10 has been atrocious in OOC play, including getting manhandled by the Mountain West

The Pac-10 is so stinky this year.

I have no idea what you're talking about in regards to the SEC, Curt. The talent level at Florida, LSU, UGA, Bama, an Auburn is nuts. Vandy is having a great season. MSU, Ark, Tenn are the only really bad teams IMO.

I still cannot figure out why fans get so fired up on which conference is the best. Is there some award given out at the end of the season for the best conference, that I am unaware of?

As a USC fan, I think this would bode well...I think the last 2 years, its been PAC 10 conference play that has tripped up the Trojans

Vandy is having a great season.

Vandy is 4-0 now...the rest of their schedule is:

Auburn
@ Miss St.
@ Georgia
Duke
Florida
@ Kentucky
Tennessee
@ Wake Forest

They should beat Duke, and I think they'll definately have a chance to beat Miss St., Kentucky, and Tennessee...I think they'll definately get to a bowl this year, and with a couple of upsets, get into a bigger bowl

Mississippi State, Duke and either Kentucky or Tennessee. If Fulmer is getting his walking papers expect them to bear down in Vandy. Auburn, Florida and Georgia will shut them down solidly.

they should shut them down solidly...will they? I'm betting one of these teams gets upset

even though these teams are oozing with talent, I still think its hard for them to get motivated to play Vanderbilt

Vandy plays Auburn at home in 2 weeks, and has a bye next week, while Auburn has to play Tennessee...we'll soon see if Auburn can get motivated for Vandy or not
