Congrats on Mustain. It'll be interesting to see how good he can be with "quality" coaching, especially going head-to-head with the other 5* QB's you have on campus.

The state of Arkansas has been kind to USC of late (Mustain, Damian Williams, Broderick Green). As for Mustain, he's gonna have to be outstanding to beat out Sanchez in 2008. Mark has been in the program for 3 years already, and nearly beat out Booty last season. Aaron Corp (5* guy in this years class) will be there in '08-'11, providing no transfer. Also, if Matt Barkley from Mater Dei commits to USC next season, he'll be in the mix in 2009 and on forward as well.

Carroll is such a persausive coach.

As noted, Mitch Mustain will have a lot of competition at USC (Mark Sanchez, Aaron Corp & maybe more), but it's pretty clear he wanted a fresh start, an opportunity to improve his game, and to test himself in a program that uses a more balanced offense. Carroll & Co. will give him that chance.

It will be interesting to see how it all turns out. Mustain might wind up like Brandon Hance, who loved USC after transfering in from Purdue, but couldn't best the likes of Matt Leinart & Matt Cassell---or, he just might rise to the top of the Trojan QB rotation and have a stellar career. We'll see.
