On Fox, O'Reilly Factor, they just showed Obama's preacher's Christmas mass surmon. "Godda** America" along with countless other racist statements.
Wow. This is gonna hurt Obama BAD. I'll try to find a link.

This came out over a year ago, and Obama addressed it then.

Yeah, I remember hearing about that time that he had a contraversial preacher and/or church, but it was basically just s whisper about it here and there. This was the first day I actually saw and heard the preacher on TV. Given, that is his preacher's words, not Obama's, but man, if McCain simply asked Obama: "Do you think your preacher was racist and anti-American?" He can't answer yes or no without losing. Bad turn of events for Obama.

I don't think simply saying "I don't agree with many of the things he says" is enough. Mahmoud Ahmadenijad of Iran constantly says "Our nuke program is for peaceful energy purposes only." Wow, OK then, he said so, so now it's OK. Obama really needs to dig in deep to explain this. And I hope he does because I'd rather have him than Hilary anyday.

Then why do you give a freakin crap what the preacher at the church Obama attends said?
I've watched both parties from the beginning of the primaries till now, and the dialog across the board went from actually discussing real issues to "he said, she said" tabloid media, on all networks, regardless of political bias...the media eats it up...
Obama's aide called Hillary a monster! Hillary's finance advisor says he's only winning because he's black!! John McCain's aide said Obama's middle name!!!
The media obviously thinks we're all phuckin idiots with the IQs of 8th graders

Many Americans are just that ...low IQ'd idiots, and Evil, their votes count just the same as yours. That's the fundamental flaw in our political system- everybody's vote counts the same. We need a graded, vote value system.

Ah, Hen, the graded vote theory. As you know, I agree with you 100% on that idea.
Evil, I care what Obama's preacher said because of this: He went to that church for over a decade. I am non-denomination now. I was raised Southern Baptist, went to SB churches until I was 16 and could drive myself to others. I stopped going to SB churches because I didn't like some of what they preached, and didn't preach- such as being hypocritical about morality. The point is, I stopped going to SB church because I was uncomfortable there and didn't agree with many things they taught. Obama has kept going there. He was comfortable there. And like you said- the media only feeds us what it wants us to eat. So, the question is, are Obamas true policy leanings what the media has led us to believe, or are they somewhat similar to that of the preacher who he has listened to and been comfortable around for longer than he has been a well-known name? Mitt Romney being a mormon was supposedly an issue- why is this not relevant?

It matters because for the first time in the campaign in the past week or so Obama is actually becoming scrutinized in the press....and he's starting to fracture.
Saturday Night live's hilarious skits the past two weeks have actually done more to force the press to finally take a critical look at this left wing kook than anything we've seen to date. The guy's basically enjoyed a media love affair for the entire campaign so far. And he's already starting to crack....and McCain and co haven;t even started in on the guy yet.
This coming campaign is going to make "Swift Boat" look like a mere warm up. There is more dirt on Obama than one can imagine and it will ALL come out.
He's going to have a REAL hard time getting past this one because this preacher is an obvious hate monger and Obama has always been supportive of him in the past.

Let me put out this disclaimer: All politicians are corrupt and I'd rather have a beer with the local high school football coach than any politician in Washington.
That said, I obviously think in line with more of what the right says, so I hope the right always wins. And seeing Hilary and Obama right now makes me think one thing: How much do the Republicans look like absolute geniuses right now? One would hardly know there is another party in America the last few weeks. The Democrats are imploding!!! Barack is being exposed, Hilary is more annoying by the day, they are killing each other. All the while the Republicans are quietly campaigning for the presidential election and fundraising- while keeping themselves far far away from the racial and gender hot topics involved with the opposing candidates. Hilary and Obama are killing each other. Limbaugh's request that Republicans vote for Hilary in the remaining primaries was pure genius and has worked like a charm. The Democrats look like fools right now. All the things McCain and the Republicans were worried they couldn't criticize the Dems for because of race and gender are being exposed now by the Dems themselves because of this mess.
The Dems remind me of Frankenstein. They created the political correctness monster that is now killing them!

I'm still waiting to hear how Obama has been exposed...how exactly is he responsible for something someone else said? And I believe Obama has denounced what was said
Instead of "extending your carbon footprint", maybe you should take a vacation from the TV

And everything you just described is why so many people hate politics...but this year has had record turnout, and why is that?
When people vote, do you think they are voting based on Sat. night skits?
This dwindling focus off the real issues is what sucks so bad about our political system as well as our news system...pop news sucks
John McCain is now "under the microscope" as well about right wing support from preachers
Is all this really necessary?

This election could really turn away from immigration, economy, terror, gay marriage, etc, and just turn to who loves America vs who hates America. Unfortunately, thanks to the pop news media. Evil, although we may be on opposite sides of many issues, we agree pop media sucks. Which is why I listen to truth from Michael Savage (ha ha).

The problem is, that listeners with low IQs (most of the rank and file listeners, I would presume) don't know the difference between an over-the-top rant for entertainment and the truth. And guys like Savage know it. So they can always fall back on the "I was making a joke" excuse when they get caught, but meanwhile they are successfully herding the sheep.

Evil, everyone bases their viewpoint on other people's opinions. People want univeral healthcare because doctors and pill commercials have us convinced we are gonna die of herpasyphenumonamnesia. People are anti-war because someone told them it was bad- not because they were in Iraq. How many people who hate George W. Bush have ever actually met him? Even mighty scientists have fellow scientists who share opinions.
You are right. Everyone forms their viewpoint off others opinions. Some to a greater extent than others. Some for right and wrong reasons.
I don't claim to be an expert in anything. My background is sports and a little LE. So, I'm the first to admit I listen to Savage, O'Reilly, etc. But I also make an effort, probably more than most, to become better informed on topics and to attempt to engage in a debate that involves more than "good grief" and "you are clueless", as many liberals will use those phrases as their key arguments.

HYH, I will say you are right to an extent. Savage is entertaining. That is certain, and part of his show is just for that- but is it not true that 99% of all news, wether it be TV, radio or print, are nothing but entertainment now? CNN, Fox, Savage, Limbaugh, Air America (bankrupt!!!), MSNBC, Al Gore, Ted Turner, Pat Robertson- they are all the same, only with a different message. Agree?

No, I don't agree. There's a difference from being biased in your attempt to report the news and being biased in the name of entertainment. I think all news media is biased, but they don't knowingly mislead the public (or outright lie). Folks like Savage, Limbaugh, Coulter (or someone like Micheal Moore on the left) knowingly mislead the public. They know they can lie because they have no accountability. Dan Rather was FIRED because CBS ran a story about Bush that was based on a bogus letter. Do you think Rather and CBS knew the letter was bogus? Of course not. But in their zeal to tell the story, they abandoned journalistic standards and didn't check their source.
There's the difference. Dan Rather, who was the face of CBS news (one of the classic liberal media outlets) for over 30 years, and a respected journalist is out of a job. Ann Coulter and Micheal Savage write books with more egregious mistakes and lies, and they get on the NYT best-seller lists. And the problem is that many people believe them more than they believe CBS news. When you can label it "entertainment", you have no accountability. And you can laugh all the way to the bank, while the sheep take what you say as truth.

Hmmm. Let me get this right: You are saying that even though Reporter X on MSNBC is biased, they aren't intentionally misleading the public? I'm assuming you mean something similar to the "good faith" law in police work where if they think they are doing the right thing, but are wrong, they are morally OK because it was done in good faith. So, if a biased reporter is truly convinced the left/right viewpoint is morally right and accurate, and they report their bias based on that, they are not intentionally misleading the public- they are just trying to emphasize issues and talking points they believe go along with the correct viewpoint?
I can agree with that. I'd argue there are reporters other than the political entertainment folks (Limbaugh, Al Franken, Savage, M. Moore) who ARE intentionally misleading the public, but I'd also agree with you many are not, that they are bias only because of their "good faith" beliefs.
