i cannot remember any HS player given as much pub and hype as T.Pryor, it's mind boggling that even on cbb games they talk about this young man.Does any one recall this much attention given a HS fb player? i can't recall,help me out here,thanks.

Ron Powlus had similar hype, didn't he ? Maybe because of the historical FB success of QBs from Pennsylvania ?

It has become big business and entertainment. Every year you have a bunch of guys commit at the AA game then a handful on NLOID. Unless they go to your school, you quickly forget about them. But it does make for some relatively good entertainment.

What is amazing is if you see a list of each class 5 years later to see how they peformed. Local paper posted a South Carolina and Clemson list. Seems like 3/4 of players either "never arrived on campus", "never played much", "left after a year", was "disappointing". A handful of each class performed well, made all conference, started, etc. For all the hype recruits get, they sure do disappoint often.

Not to start an 'anti-SEC' thread, but that is common. SEC often 'oversigns' and waits for a few academic casualties to keep them legal.

BT just recently allowed coaches to start doing it.
