Out of curiosity, who do you think will win it all?
My picks:
1. LSU (Senior QB Matt Flynn is gonna lead the team to a NC!!)
2. USC
3. Texas
4. Florida
5. Wisconsin
6. Michigan
7. Ohio State
8. Oklahoma
9. West Virginia
10. Virginia Tech

LSU will be strong, but Flynn is a first yr starter. If they couldn't do it with Jamarcus....
USC has a better chance this year, and an easier schedule.
Michigan should be favored to win the big 10 and perhaps make it to the BCS title game. They have a very favorable schedule, only tough road game is Wisconsin.
OSU will probably lose two games this year. I am guessing either PSU or Wisconsin and Michigan.
Florida won't be the same without all those defensive guys and Chris Leak.
A darkhorse may be West Virginia, especially if Noel Devine makes grades. That backfield will be ridiculous....

Michigan I think has a phenomenal shot. The experience they are bringing back will help.
USC will be strong but as we saw last year. They ARE human.
LSU will choke. I'm not saying Auburn will beat them but Florida, South Carolina, Virginia Tech, Alabama AND Arkansas all have legit shots.
Texas is doubtful again.

Just seems like USC has the fewest questions out of the poll.
Michigan got torched twice by good passing teams, what are they doing to improve that?
LSU is breaking in a new QB, who so far has had one good game against an unmotivated Miami squad.
I don't see any ACC team making it.
I don't see any SEC team dominating the conference and winning out.
West Virginia has a shot due to the schedule, assuming they don't choke against South Florida or Rutgers or someone like that. I don't see Louisville doing that well without Petrino at the helm.
New QB at tOSU = one loss or two at least
I don't know enough about Texas or Wisconsin to really make an opinion (who did they lose to graduation/draft, who is coming in, etc)

Penn State I believe will make it to the National Championship game for this upcoming season. I don't think that they have as many question mark's as people would have you believe. The only real rebuilding that must be done is on the defensive line, and the recruiting class prior to the 11-1 season was among the top 5 for offensive/defensive line. Also it will be in the hands of the very capable Larry Johnson SR. Those player's have not even cracked the starting offensive line yet (add to that two top 100 JUCO OT) and I like our chances. We start the season with a pathetic game, then play Notre Dame, then we play another pathetic opponent. The only TRUE TESTS should come from wisconsin, michigan, iowa. Illinios is on their way up but i think we beat them handily, and notre dame knows that revenge is waiting for them AT happy valley. Ohio State is always capable of a win, but at this point i dont include them as a challenge because of the fact that they lost their heisman winning qb troy smith. they also lose anthony gonzales, ted ginn jr., antonio pittman, doug datish and another ol i dont know the name to. On defense i think they only lose their 2 senior dt's, but still in my mind this year is a down year for ohio state - they already disrespected the big ten but not even putting together a valiant effort on the biggest stage in college football. Damn i would have rather seen USC in one more - atleast it would have been a good game.

If Penn St. is going to make some noise in '07, Anthony Morelli has got to improve...

No doubt...but I liked the way he looked in the Outback Bowl.
He made great decisions, no mistakes and had the best game of his career.
That game made every Penn State fan feel good about headed into next season. Add that to a young OL that has had a year experience added to it and we'll be fine.

I feel really good about Anthony Morelli stepping up and taking a leadership role this upcoming season. There has not been a 3,000 YD. passer in Penn State history, unless I am mistaken. Morelli threw for 2,400 + and had the most completions, most attempts in a single season. People were constantly on him, saying he was stupid - could not read defenses. But in all reality as bad as he looked it was also bad coaching. You cannot expect your offense to consist of 5 yard outs, deep outs, a few reverses and Tony Hunt pounding the ball the rest of the way. I like what our coaches did in the Outback Bowl allowing Morelli to make play calling changes at the line, and I expect him to be given full REIGN over decisions this year. FULL PLAYBOOK, allow him to switch things up at the line of scrimmage and audible. As long as our offensive line recruiting is anywhere near where it was ranked, I have a very good feeling that Morelli will be given a lot more time to throw the ball. We have to GET CHRIS BELL ON THE FIELD MORE TO - HE IS A MONSTER RECEIVER WHO CAN JUMP OUT OF THIS WORLD.

They did last year with a far less superior team. That game IMO is the best rivalry going on right now in the SEC. LSU has WR issues and Auburn has OL issues. I bet the Auburn at LSU game will be just the same ole 10-3 type ball game.

As a Penn State fan I am naturally optimistic about the 2007 season.
However, if they are going to win their first national championship since 1994 there are a few nagging questions. As some have mentioned, Morelli needs to build on his performance against Tennessee in the Outback Bowl. Also, will they be able to replace outgoing Levi Brown and Robert Price on the o-line? Can Austin Scott finally live up to his potential? He showed in the 2006 Orange Bowl he is capable of great things, let's hope he continues that way. Also can Kevin Kelly improve his accuracy? In all fairness I think he was hurt last year, so hopefully he recovers and has a great year. Can they find a solid replacement for Jeremy Kapinos at punter?
Not worried too much about the D. They'll be fine, even with the loss of Poz. I also think the schedule clearly works in their favor. Wisky, OSU and ND at home. And you figure at some point they have to beat Michigan, even if it's by accident.
My guess is they'll improve significantly on offense. I think the Outback Bowl gave them a much needed burst of confidence. Hopefully the team can give Joe another champions ride (or two) before he rides off into the sunset. IMHO, this year is a BCS or bust type of season.

PS. No Bama fans, you do NOT have more. ( I dont count the good houskeeping or Redbook championships) :)

why Oklahoma? Adrian Peterson is gone....and who's gonna be the QB?
Oklahoma needs more stability before they make a run IMO...

If you look at Texas' schedule, it would seem they've got a pretty easy path to an undefeated season.

Actually I think Alabama has it right. Since all the polls are subjective, why not count any poll you can find? Based on some of the polls I have seen in the past you could make an argument the writers for the Redbook know more college football then the writers for the AP. I wished Penn State's athletic department was like Alabama's in this regard. Penn State does not even officially count MNCs they legitamately won!

Maybe that's because we've been hosed out of at least two of them....1968 and 1994
