more like 17, 18 if you consider the 3rd WR a starter over the FB.....

Antother rumor from another source JL spoke with Alex Boone after class this morning and again said he was coming back.

Not too long ago, I figured if we just lost Vern, Jenkins and JL, and kept the rest, it would be ok. Keeping of 1 of those 3 would be great. This is the best recruiting class in tOSU history....

And even though I think Vern is the best of the 6, his position is probably the deepest, while JL, Jenkins and Boone all had much less depth behind them.

How true....Lawrence Wilson would have been a beast had he not been injured vs YSU and Robert Rose also had an injury prone year. Heyward was a true freshman and held his own down the stretch. Could also see Thadeus Gibson line up at DE...I think they lost the guy who, while definitely a stud, he'll be easier to replace than JL or Jenkins would have been.

I agree 100%, although there are soem rumors flying around that Gibson may transfer, which would be a shame.

But Wilson, Heyward and Rose are all studs. If one of the 3 incoming frosh DTs are good enough for the 2 deep, Worthington can move outside, if needed.

I'll take talent over experience any day. The question for the Bucks is, "Do they have enough talent (among other things) to go into LA and beat USC?" The rest of the schedule appears pretty easy.

USC loses a ton of talent (4 out of 5 on the OLine), and by far their 2 best on the DL. OSU should have the advantage on the LOS - Take advantage of it.

Because I think LSU's senior leadership was a huge factor in the game last week. When they faced a little adversity, they didn't feel the pressure - they'd been there before. Ohio State didn't have that senior leadership. i fully recognize that LSU was also very talented but don't underestimate the leadership Flynn, Dorsey, Hester, etc. provided early in that game. Laurinaitis and Jenkins are very talented - they would have been 1st round picks had they opted to leave.

Yeah, there is plenty of talent at Ohio State. The following 2009 mock NFL draft has 5 Buckeyes going in the first round. It would be 6 had the list not presumed that Laurinitis was going pro. LSU also has 4 players listed. It should be taken with a grain of salt.

As for the schedule, traveling to Wisconsin and Illinois are going to be two very tough tests. I know the Big Ten is just awful, but it isn't that awful.

LSU needs to work on their OOC schedule next year. North Texas, Tulane and Troy and a TBA....yikes.

Texas Tech returns 19 starts. Missouri supposedly 17 and Kansas 16.

I think LSU's OOC schedule is fine. They are getting tested a LOT in-conference. Those nail-biters and OT losses toughened LSU mentally. I think that is what kept them poised when OSU went up 10-0. Not an SEC homer remark, but they are getting tested very hard in conference. Just like Florida did in 2006.
