Hank Bauer who passed away at 84 but trust me he was 1 tough cookie,set a record with hits in 17 consecutive games and they won 7 titles from 49 thru 58.
Saw action in a no.of battles in the Pacific and was wounded at Okinawa,hit in the left thigh by shrapnel in his 53 day on the island said "we went in with 64 and 6 came out"
