-Pac-Man Jones and Chris Henry suspended for 24 combined games this year. If Bob Huggins runs what is viewed as the "clean" program...yikes
-Kevin Durant declares first. Stay Greg. Please!!! The Griz will lose 50 games next year. The Bucks won't lose any...maybe....
-The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim vs The Cleveland Indians of Milwaukee. The Indians home opener is in....Milwaukee. Sigh....

Snow in central Texas second week of April. Coldest Easter in recorded history in much of the eastern 2/3rds of the country. First week of baseball east of the Rockies mostly getting SNOWED out....
This Global Warming is a real pain.....
I only wish the truth about Huggins could be brought forth to the public so everyone would realize just how big a low-life, degenerate, scumbag individual he is. I think the fact that he deserted Kansas State and the #1 rated class he coerced into following him there is a pretty good indication but there is more to Huggin's problems in Cincinnati than not graduating players and vomiting all over himself while be pulled over for DUI. In the long run, KSU will be better off without him.

I am sure you saw Bill Walker play with OJ Mayo. Him plus Beasley is probably good enough to to finish at least 5th in the B12 in a given year. KSU has some talent, no doubt....

I've got the old NCAA grad rate reports from the Thuggins era. Without checking, I believe there was a 6 or 7 year period when there were exactly 'zero' grads among his scholarship kids. This guy is strictly 'win-at-all-costs'
it goes far beyond the grad rates. He could have survived the DUI. Let's just say that Huggins has no moral fiber.

He was the long-time basketball coach at Cincinatti, where his teams were always very good, but as Hen recounted, academic integrity wasn't really on his radar screen. He had a lot of baggage, and finally got fired after getting a DUI.
He took over Kansas State's job just last year, then quickly abandoned the Wildcats a few weeks ago when his alma mater, WVU, came calling.

Yeah, but the old NCAA methodology distorts the real numbers. JUCO's (didn't count) and early NBA departures counted against a school.
Huggins raised a great deal of money for charities in the Cincinnati area. He played a greater role (winning games, rasing money to upgrade facilities, etc.) than anyone in UC’s entrance into the Big East. He raised a lot of money for non-revenue sports at UC, including womens’ sports.
He re-established a moribund basketball program and in the process became a integral part of the community. While the early NCAA tourney exits were frustrating, Huggins’ teams had a blue-collar mentality that the Cinncy fans took to.
Those who cast aspersions upon Coach Huggins fail to recognize his positive attributes.
Did he recruit some kids who fell on their faces? Sure he did, and he recruited mainly the kids who wanted the NBA and not much else (like Tark). His downfall at UC was probably a result of his giving his kids too many second chances.
Did he have a DUI? Yes. So did 3 other UC employees, none of whom lost their jobs.
Huggy’s job was to win games. He did. Huggy’s job was to promote the school. He did. His job was to coach basketball. He did very well.
He has a fire and a passion about his trade that very few coaches have.
The bigger picture here is the absolute hypocrisy of the university presidents.

yep - common knowledge. Shame on WVU and KSU too.

Good point about the different grad rate formula in Huggins' Cincy days.......however, are you aware that Huggins recruits averaged a sum 73 ACT score ? That's equates to an average 880 SAT score per kid. Many of his players could barely read and write . This guy epitomized the 'win-at-all-cost' mentality, IMO.
You seem to know a lot about Huggins. Publicly, people were led to believe that it was the DUI and grad rates that cost Huggins his job. It goes far above and beyond that. You can choose to believe what you want but based on what I know on pretty good authority, he got what he deserved. It's kind of like Pete Rose; if you know you haven't done anything wrong, why would you agree to walk away. And if someone has does something so bad that you want to get rid of him, why would you give him millions of dollars to leave.
