...in the three marquee games, the two BCS bowls and Cotton, the conference title winner gets blown out by a Big East enigma, but the runners up shine??? Not to mention Texas Tech wins an unlikely game, CU plays well but lost to a pretty bad Alabama team and A&M play PSU tough, and Ok St ??? Not sure what to think, but KU and Mizzou are pretty good.

That OB win, Zoom, pushes the B12 over the mendoza line, vs other BCS leagues in the BCS era...now 81-80.

The "best team" thing has to put KU right at the top now. USC and UGA are playing the best of all the teams right now, but KU, who had a BETTER OOC SOS should finish a bit ahead of Ohio St in the "best team" debate even if OSU wins Monday night. If they lose, then KU should be the undisputed #1 team in the nation. LSU is a pathetic JOKE.

IMO, there are two terms that should be prohibited from use in this forum that will elevate us (collectively) to a higher intellectual level regarding our discussions of college football :

'Ranked, rankings,' etc
and
'best team(s)'

Kansas has a decent argument actually. Lets say OSU loses for sake of argument. And Hawaii of course lost it's claim.

Kansas would be the only 1 loss team left. And their lone loss will be from top 5 Missouri. Maybe it's just me, but they would have as good a "body of work" as any team in CFB. Right?

That was their first good win of the season.

Aside from tonight's game, they beat 3 teams that were over .500. CMU(8-6), Oklahoma State (7-6), and Texas A&M (7-6). A combined 4 games over .500.

Take away wins against I-AA, and the only team that they beat prior to VT that had a winning record was CMU, who lost to a I-AA team.

I would say quite a few teams had much better bodies of work. Your only loss being a tough game is the ND argument.
