View Full Version : Failings of the black culture

At the risk of being totally politically incorrect, I'll state the obvious. Selfish displays on the field of play are largely a black thing and, plain and simple, products of a failing black culture.
The routines are predictable. A player on either side of the ball makes a good play, and then instantly walks into the opponent's backfield to strike a pose so that he can bask in the glory.
A player is about to score on a long TD and, with no defenders close by, dives into the end zone -- before striking his pose and/or doing his silly dance. The resultant harm to his team (15-yard excessive celebration penalty assessed on the ensuing kickoff) matters not. It also matters not how crucial the game: Hawaii's Davone Bess selfishly hurt his team in the critial game vs. Fresno State, as did FSU DB Tony Carter in yesterday's Music City Bowl.
True -- there still are black players who demonstrate a measure of class on the field of play, but they are the exceptions.

unforunately, I tend to agree. you rarely see white players excessively celebrate. The worst thing I saw yesterday was the receiver from USC who did a flip as he was going in the end zone. Pete Carroll read him the riot act afterwards...

I think it is more of a discipline problem than a culture problem. Coaches need to bring down the hammer on that garbage, but they don't often.

Higher NCAA eligibility standards would cull out lots of those idiots.

You have to ask yourself, how many whites are in positions where they score TD's. The DB's, WR's, & RB's which are the tickers are mostly all black. Just check the line up in tonight's game. Whites don't have the skill set to score TD's these days in a BCS conference...unless it's a tightend and by the time his big country ass scores, he'll need oxygen and will be too tired to celebrate unless his name is Jeremy Shockey....

Classy response Boss. What if someone said blacks don't have the skill set to coach and lead a program? You're such a clown.
Oh, and whites don't have the skill set to score TD's these days in a BCS conference? Some guy named Tebow may want to debate that.

Hey man, Tebow had his chance last night and laid a goose egg when it mattered...Leak is gone! As of now, Tebow is overrated IMO! He has not won the SEC or a Bowl game as the starting QB for the Gators.
Also, why are you so emotional toward The BossTalker? What's up with the name calling? Where are those qualudes, man because it seems as though you need them after responding to my posts. Look man, I'm just looking out and trying to help. I didn't shoot the sheriff...
Now, like I posted earlier, whites don't possess the skill set to score TD's in a BCS conference as most of the tickers are black. Would you like to respond to that in a more grown up manner? Provide the percentage of DB's, WR's and RB's in the SEC that are white. If that number is higher than 50% for each position, I'll sit on a barb wired fence in the nude with Blue Blocker shades on singing, "Haven't you heard, daddy's gone crazy, haven't you heard that momma is gone...."
One more thing, whites have said and will continue to say that blacks lack the skills to coach...nothing but a re-run, man...hell they said Dungy couldn't coach...a re-run...

And with the exception of Harvin who played magnificently, had absolutely no help on offense - but he's over rated and laid a goose egg.
At list he didn't do a flip into the endzone, point his finger at the defender after scoring a TD, get in a defenders face after scoring a TD and then accuse the defender of running his mouth, flex his muscles after making a tackle even thought his team is trailing by 20 points...it's sickening and coaches should yank players out of the game and sit their butts right on the bench if that's how they're going to act.
By the way, it's not a black/white thing. I see plenty of white kids acting like asses too. It's a discipline thing. But I will say this, if that back for LSU makes any great plays on Monday night, and chances are pretty good that he will; I'll bet he doesn't act like a jackass after he does it.

One way to stop some of the excessiveness is to make the celebration a "spot" foul. If the kid leaps from the 2, there is no touchdown, and the penalty puts the ball back to the 17.
Would put an end to that almost immediately.

Yep, IMO even though he accounted for those TD's, HE IS OVERRATED! Vince Young had no tickers on O and made things happen by winning the B12 and the MNC. Don't get me wrong, Tebow is an oustanding athlete and has the heart of lion and I enjoy watching him play but he has not achieved the goals of the University of Florida. Football is a TEAM sport and his team regressed from the previous year...

So what is your point?
all that show off stuff is garbage...just play the game. i have no problem with players showing excitement but showboating is something that needs to be cleaned up and I'd say this no matter who is doing it - it is not a back or white issue - it's a sign of our 'It's all about me' culture. Again, if Pete Carroll wanted to do away with Fred Davis taunting an opponent, all he had to do was yank his butt from the game. That sends a pretty powerful message...but Pete obviously doesn't want to do that.
BTW, Vince Young was/is a stud but he also had Selvin Young and Jamaal Charles to hand the ball off to, he could throw the ball to Limas Sweed who made an amazing catch to beat Ohio State...having those players gave the defense something else to be concerned with...Tebow didn't have a running back...period.

Wow, Boss, your lack of intelligence is showing. You are throwing out blanket racial statements, and expect us to take you seriously?
Where have you seen whites saying blacks can't coach? You don't see them saying that. Even if one thought it, it'd be politically incorrect to say it, yet acceptable to say whites can't play skill football (somehow they think God made EVERY race equal in all things EXCEPT he made blacks better at skill position football).
Hen and I have discussed demographics in football in depth. It was a conversation far above your grasp, so I'll just leave you be.

Man, you refuse to give the BossTalker a break by popping that pill. Now, you're insulting me. Just great, man!
Hey man, all you have to do is research how many times Dungy was passed over for a head coaching gig. That in itself will let you know what they were thinking and saying.

Hey man, the reason IMO that 95% of all DB's WR's and RB's in the SEC and other conferences are black....hold up..stop the presses. I believe this is your assumption. This can't be a fact...95% is too effing high for the Ivy League. It is a fact that this kid is not in the NFL today after gaining all of those yards in college. It is my assumption that the reason he's not in the NFL is because he lacks the proper skill set that a Ladainian Tomlinson or Adrian Peterson has. Did I mention that he was white or was it you?
Why don't you two just go out and buy a beer. I feel Dungy is a great coach and Sylvester Crooms is blessed that he has so many in Starkville that are willing to give him the time he needs. MSU delivered this year. They actually played LSU tough but turnovers killed the Bulldogs. Amazing when you reflect upon it that just two weeks after LSU embarassed Crooms on opening day, the Bulldogs beat Auburn on the plains. MSU went 8-5. Very happy for that SEC team.
But as to celebrations and gymnastics when headed in - spot personal foul. If a long run then they'll be in/near the red zone after the step off so they get some credit for their effort prior to having their "lapse".
Congrats Boss on Texas' pounding of Arizona State. Even I, Boss, was a staunch Texas fan during the game and even did a "Hook 'em". Played "Texas Fight" on the PC.
Bucs90, it comes down to OU and Kansas and if they can get teh Big 12 to a 6-2 bowl mark. You know I'm pulling for Ohio State. This might be the year that goose egg disappears?

Glad to hear that you didn't want Bevo cooked medium rare this time around! I will be rooting on OU like crazy as I took them and the over for $200. Rossman, I can't believe that I'm about to post this but....BOOMER SOONER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO OU!!!!!
Holy Cow !!! I'm going to print that off. You actually got $200 taking them. How many points did you give? I'm thinking upper 30's to low to mid 20's. Basically 12-17 points. I'll never give anybody that (until I get a time machine built anyway with a reliable forward/reverse lever).

Why should they? Richt lets his guys act like idiots against Florida and they play their best game of the season and end up being one of the best teams in the nation. They were dancing and celebrating all game against Auburn. Before when they seemed to be disciplined they got destroyed by UT and lost to USC.

I use 5 Dimes and the Sooners are -8 favs...I believe the blue print is out on WVU. Pitt shut that run down. However, WVU will put up some points but their D will not be able to sustain and will tire by the 4th quarter. This game may get ugly late....

This is nonsense. Scoring 4 TD's and leading your offense to 35 points is a "goose egg?" 35 points will win games 9 times out of 10. The Florida defense lost the game, not Tebow or the offense.
And I'm not sure why you always need to bring up Leak when these discussions come up. Tebow doesn't have the defense that Leak did. Not even close. Combine Florida's 2007 offense with their 2006 defense, and you have one of the best teams of all time.
Also not sure what your point is about Tebow having never won the SEC or Bowl game as the starting Florida QB. It's only been one single season. Great sample size there, my man. Oh and he played a large role in Florida's 2006 SEC & National Championships.

The DEFENSE regressed, not the offense. Last I checked, Tebow plays on offense which is LIGHT YEARS ahead of the 2006 Gator Offense. Are you serious with this logic?

Wow. Zoom that is a great article. I think it has a lot more to do with culture than race. The Patriots and Colts have a mix of races, more diverse than any other two teams. And they are the model franchises. Why? Teamwork, discipline, leadership, the exact opposite traits if hip hop and heavy metal music.
Getting rid of selfishness is huge. Hip hop is all about selfishness. Chad Johnson is playing "victim" like so many people do. They "Look what they are doing to me" mindset. Rather, players should say "What they are saying, and what my teammates are saying, is what it takes to win, and WE are gonna all do it." The Patriots and Colts, white, black and other, all understand this and are reaping the rewards. Awesome article.

This thread is absurd IMO...
IMO, guys flipping into the endzone has more to do with age instead of race...a guy in the NFL flipped into the endzone and younger college players want to emulate that...
Its not any different than any celebration trends throughout the history of football
Hell, I thought it was cool when Emmitt Smith took off his helmet after he scored, and I'm a 30 year old white guy
If I was a football player playing possibly my last college game in a bowl game and my team was winning big, I'd celebrate like crazy too
