Here's a cut and paste from an article in the Gainesville Sun

"Spurrier can't hide glee"

Gator fans were still buzzing about the basketball team's back-to-back-to-back national titles in basketball and football Tuesday morning.

That includes the one in Columbia, S.C., who was getting ready to tee it up when he called both Florida athletic director Jeremy Foley and basketball coach Billy Donovan to offer his congratulations.

"That's an amazing basketball team," said South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier in a cell phone call to The Sun. "Billy has done an unbelievable job with them."

The former UF ball coach slipped in a "we" when twisting the knife into Ohio State, which lost both the football and basketball championships to Florida.

"We've kind of turned Ohio State into Runner-up U., haven't we?" said Spurrier, a Gator alumnus.

The guy is amazing. He just can't resist a chance to cut on someone.
I wish I could find the article that was in a Jax paper after the game in 2005 where South Carolina beat UF (the came damn close last year also). The reporter ask Spurrier about the UF play calling that used up all the time and cost UF the game. Spurrier said something like, "Yeah, I kept looking across the field to see if Phil Fulmer had gone on a diet!"

Yep, we all are! But, keep in mind that even back then Spurrier said we should have a playoff so that teams don't have to depend on others losing in order to win the NC.

Oh, come on now we all know you love the man! He took the UF/FSU rivalry to a new level! You know it's a lot more fun to beat UF when UF is ranked #1 than it was to beat them when they were 6-5. How many times did UF and FSU meet when one or the other was ranked #1? Be honest, how have the games been since he left?

I'm a long time Spurrier fan. Great great coach, great quips, brutally honest and comically clever. Brings real entertainment value to CF. Does any other HC get more sideline TV time than SOS ? He'd be my all time co-offensive coordinator for my dream staff, along with Lavell Edwards.

Let me guess Hen, your head coach would be Larry Kehres.

..chuckling. Are you trying to tell me that I need some fresh material ?

Yeah......HC - Kehres, OCs - Edwards/Spurrier, DC - Neyland
