On another board, there is a debate on whether or not Texas (the state not the school) produces the most NFL players. I was pretty sure they lead by a mile, but I am sure you have some sort of revelavant data.

I would guess that California, Florida or Texas would top that list.

I actually researched that 4 or 5 years back but can't find my data. I believe California, Texas and Florida were 1,2, & 3 based on High Schools of NFL players. 'Per capita' , I think Louisiana may have been #1 , at that time.
For the production of Pro Hall Of Famers :
California - 32
Pennsylvania - 25
Ohio - 22
Texas - 19
Illinois - 18

Whoever has the most high school football players quite likely has the most players at any level.
Now the telling stat would be per-capita....

Thank you, info greatly appreciated.
The guy who arguing this probably didnt know what "per capita" means, so he didn't mean that.

...and If I remember right, Cal, Tex and Fla were NOT among the top states in per capita production.

Florida is lot closer to Texas than I thought. With how religious it is down there, you'd think it would be more.
Maybe I am think of current FBS players? Any data on that?
