Unless I'm mistaken, the house the Bush's were once renting is now being rented to the parents of another Trojan ... McKnight? Where did those parents get the capital to rent in this style? Do Pete or the USC cheerleaders do more than smile and shake it?

I must say that I am absolutely slack-jawed at the lack of attention that, that whole USC situation has brought. I mean, this is juicy stuff. at least as juicy as college football can get. We're talking the possible stripping of a Heisman trophy and possible forfeiture of games. I know that those are the worst case outcomes, but they are possibilities. Red meat for the media. I'm talking blood dripping red meat. Yet...Bubkis. Jim, if you can figure it out (I sure as heck can't) I'd like to know why this story has died before it even grew wings.

It's just being brushed under the carpet.

USC is a money maker for the NCAA...so they turn a blind eye.

Right now I think the only thing that really seperates USC from most of the other traditional powers is their insane rate of success - on the field and in recruiting. i.e. I really don't believe USC is significantly different or any dirtier/cleaner than anyone else. But other bigtime programs have had situations come up where the media was hell bent on "bringing down the empire." But with USC it seems really kid gloves like. I just find that puzzling.

I am just not sure there is any new news to report at this time. When college football season gets up and runnin again, we'll hear more about it. Especially if SC has the success they're planning on having this season

To date, the claims and counterclaims between the Bush family and the wannabe agents have not been resolved. The "agents" appear to be seeking a cash settlement, by applying media pressure, while the Bush family has filed an attempted extortion complaint against them.

Presently, conference, NCAA, and university investigations remain open, pending factual development delayed by the legal processes. USC could ultimately be sanctioned, even though not involved and completely unaware of the circumstances at issue.
