Les Miles will pack up his suitcase and head to Michigan. All of Saban's players will be gone, the best the Tigers can do is the Sugar Bowl (or its equivalent) assuming they beat either Tennessee or Georgia next week. Hard to imagine that LSU will be able to muster up the emotional level or pure motivation to play in just 168 hours as they're in shock. Made it to #1 twice this year and now are 10-2.

Love it that both Coach Fran and the Nutcase in Fayetteville both won today in rivalry game upsets. Also give a nod to Sylvester Crooms at Mississippi State who came back with 17 points to secure a true 7-5 winning season.

A great day. Now tomorrow will probably not go quite as well. Upsets are the rule from 9/1 until 12/1.

THe NFL exceeds even this season as far as excitement...at least to a fan of true football is concerned. Anyone that isn't fascinated with Tom Brady and that the Pats and what they are doing or looking forward to the second regular season Super Bowl game this year, Thursday, night between the Cowboys and the Packers, or simply enthralled by what Brett Favre (from Southern Miss) is doing this year, is not really a football fan. ( And I'm coming to the realization that most Div IA college fans are not really football fans at all, just circus fans....).

Houston Nutt is a genuine overtime legend . What's that......8 out of 9 OT wins ?..or something like that.

I like Houston Nutt.

This season is exciting? There are a lot of good stories, like Farve's revival, but the Patriots demolition of their opponents isn't exciting. It's interesting, no doubt. And they are fun to watch. But exciting? No way.

The NFL this year could have a BCS system in place, and nobody would even mind. Put the Patriots up against the Cowboys-Green Bay winner, and you've got the two best teams in football playing for the Super Bowl. Nobody would argue the matchup.

instead of worshipping sports celebrities, swallow your humoungous hubris and be honest here : virtually all knowledgable football fans realize and admit 80% or more of nfl games are consistently dull, homogenized yawnfests. compare and contrast this to CF where satisfaction is guaranteed each week...the references you make to 2 fine qb's makes my point indirectly: the quality of nfl qb play is alomost complete garbage for about 20 of the leagues teams!.....vinny testaverde is even called back from the easy chair...resutlingly, the games are consistently ugly and boring....i gave up on pro football after all these homogenized snoozefests on sunday the last decade...wasnt hard at all as for every sweet bret favre saga, there are 5 ray lewis's prancing around, 10 mike vick "play-uhs" and about 20 abused nfl grifriends/wives ...

Well, 14-2 Chargers losing in the first round pretty much trumps that notion....

Dude, its a hypothetical obviously. If the NFL had a BCS system in place, I'm telling you that no one would argue a Patriots-Green Bay/Dallas Super Bowl. Which I used just to make the point that the NFL is not more exciting this year then college football. It's not even close. The Patriots in the NFL are like the 95 Cornhuskers. Sure, they are fun to watch. But there's not much exciting about watching a new slaughter week after week.

Speaking of the Chargers, why the hell did the Chargers think they could just switch head coaches and everything would be fine. I love all these sports shows asking the question "What's wrong with the Chargers this year?" WTF do you think is the problem? Norv Turner is the head coach!!! They guy is a documented failure in every head coaching job he's had. You think you can just him on a talented 14-2 team and he won't screw it up? Give me a break.

You fire a coach that goes 14-2, and you deserve the fallout.

(yes, I'm a Redskin's fan, and endured way too much of Norv)

Firing a head coach that just went 14-2 at San Diego is about as silly as Nebraska firing a head coach after going 10-3.....

But in reality Frank Solich's firing had very little to do with his won-loss resume and everything to do with personal issues....

And on Norv Turner, I guess Nebraska could hire him......We hired Callahan, afterall....

Given the choice, as a tOSU fan, I would much rather UM hire Miles over Brian Kelly.

Miles is a Carr. Kelly is a Tressel/Meyer/Stoops.....

Yup...nothing like those SEC games on CBS with Gary Danielson and ole Verne. Then with ESPN usually doing a night game. This year has been amazing. Week after week, game after game. Drama up until the end. Now do you boys see why there's not as much need for me to follow the BCS race? Everything I need as a college football fans is in the SEC: good teams, passionate fans, good TV coverage, two balanced divisions, and an actual championship playoff game that is based on real on-field results and standings...no voting or computers! Crazy, I know.
