...well, one of the most enigmatic and quirky of coaches, mike leach, finally comes down to the common denominatormany frustrated teams claim eventually- he is blaming the refs for his teams 59-43 loss saturday in a wild one in austin...after referring to the officiating as " a complete travesty", he insinuated fix by referring to one ref as "a resident of austin, texas"...after cooler heads might seem to prevail a few days later prevailed, he is still sticking by his statement today...now the obvious question to ask leach is: hey, a bad call or two in a 20-17 type game might have hurt you, but howdoyou blame the officiating for 59 points and the fact that your defenders looked like they were trying to tackle earl campbell instead of coltmccoy when the kid was breaking tackles all game long vs, Tech D ...it will be interesting how leach's uncharacterisitc furor- as well as the responseof the big 12 refs- plays out in a big one in lubbock saturday vs. oklahoma...
