I know the resident Oklahoma fans may disagree, and they might be right. PAC refs at their finest in this one too.

Wow. That is pretty bad. OSU coach: WHY DIDN'T HE ASK FOR A REVIEW?

I've seen worse calls, but not much worse. That's pretty bad.

yes, Oregon State stopped them on 4th down on that drive and still won. It wouldn't even have come to that if not for numerous ejections in our secondary.
Mike Riley couldn't ask for a review because we were out of timeouts. Our QB was making his first ever start, and he burned a few too many timeouts that we shouldn't have. I heard some rumors that there were 'technical difficulties' that prevented any reviews from happening. But how do you miss it anyway? The back judge I assume it is, is standing 3 feet away...
We seriously need a major overhaul of officiating/reviewing out here. We're down there with the ACC and WAC refs.

according to PAC 10 director of Instant Replay
'the fumble wasn't that eggregious unless you are an Oregon State fan'
The referees wont be reprimanded, but the review crew was privately reprimanded. Not good enough for Oregon State's AD, nor should it be. And this director guy should be fired. For once, the PAC is fortunate this was on late at night when on one was watching. The fumble call and lack of review might not be the most eggregious officiating in that game.

Did anyone see the fumble that wasn't reviewed in the Ohio State - Illinois game? Supposedly, there was a technical glitch and the replay official didn't get to see this play. Granted Illinois outplayed Ohio State for the most part in the game but if that play is reviewed and Ohio State gets the ball at the 20 up 7-0, who knows if the entire way the game would have been different? we'll never know, but it was a bad miss by the officials on the field. The mistake by the officials on the field can almost be forgiven, because they are human and mistakes sometimes in real time. That's what instant replay is for...to correct those mistakes.
However, for the PAC-10 director to make that statement is inexcusable. You don't have to be an Oregon State fan to clearly see that was a very bad call.

Yeah, I am baffled an employee of the conference said something like that.
The Illinois call was also pretty bad. Tressel could've challenged, but I think he said there were no TVs in the booth? Surely Ohio State can afford a TV up there...

Indeed a better response. Initially the review crew was only going to receive a letter of reprimand, and Oregon State's AD gave Tom a call and demanded something further be done. I'm sure he's much happier with this response, as most of the fans are.
